That dress is so pretty ek! I think everything about the outfit sounds perfect!

I also have to find something to wear to her sisters graduation the week before, but I could wear what I wore to the oldests grad school ceremony in 2012.
( black & white dotted faux wrap dress with a bright color sweater.)
I just have to make sure my shoes arent too spiky cause lots of grass to walk across.
Although I havent worn heels for more than a few minutes since the knee replacement. They tweak it in a way that doesnt feel stable.
I forgot about that. Guess I go shoe shopping too.

Emerald- If you want to wear heels, how about some platforms? They may be more comfortable.

BTW- I love the dress you ordered!

I do have some born wedge platforms, three pair. Black, brown & tan. But I think they are 3 3/4".
I will try them out though. Actually, I did buy some Toms wedge booties and they were comfortable, so I should be Ok.
Thanks for the feedback on the dress & its a petite! I dont have to hem it.

How about:

Dont worry about the scar. Engenders sympathy :)

Love the dress, EK, but I’m not wild about the metallic silver belt. I wish it were blue grosgrain. And silver shoes at a picnic outdoors during the day? I’d go for something like blue or white wedge sandals, preferable espadrilles. (I’m generally not a fan of metallics, except at night.
) I also have to question the denim jacket. It sounds too heavy for the dress. But maybe it is a very different kind of jacket than I am imagining.

I could see something more like this:

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/eliza-j-sequin-dot-cardigan/3671557?origin=related-3671557-0-3-2-4-RR&BaseUrl=Maxi&PageCategoryId=PP

Or a shawl.

Some denim jackets could work with EK’s dress (which I love!), for example, something like this cropped one:

I have an older version of this jacket, and it works well with dresses since it is structured more like a shirt and is very soft:

I agree that espadrille wedge sandals would be the best option.

Outdoor summer wedding…fabulous! (just in case of rain the hosts should have indoor and outdoor space ready to go). Tea length dresses are cute…but on the shortish women tends to cut us. I would look for a light weight dress (with some of the colors of the wedding) floor length dress. You will be elegant and comfortable. Look online for sales if you can’t find what you want at a local store.

It isnt a wedding. She was married at the courthouse in January. So no colors.
It is a picnic in a friends backyard.
I will probably bring a pashmina in case it is just a touch chilly, but waiting for the dress to buy one.
I think wearing metallic accents during the day looks fine. The dress comes with a gold belt according to the comments, but I tend to wear more silver. Since my waist isnt that small, I don’t want to make that part of me " pop". ( metal is very " on trend" this year)
But I wear my jean jacket or faux leather moto jacket with everything. I like to think that because I am smallish, It looks differently than if I were tall. I could be wrong of course, I will probably run it by my youngest.
My jean jacket fits fairly close and looks similar but is shorter than the one BB pictured.

I also like this jacket, but it sounds like the arms run very narrow & I dont have stick arms.

I will look for shoes after I find the dress, I do like espadrille wedges, but dont have any at the moment. I have a narrow heel and need shoes that have some sort of strap to hold it on my foot unless it fits perfectly.

EK: I love the look you have chosen.

Sorry for the double post, the site doesnt post things immediately and so it looks like it hasnt gone through.
I wonder if they are still working on " bugs"?

I like EK’s chosen dress and the idea of the jean jacket (cropped, not long). Remains to be seen how the dress looks - I am 5’2" also and would drown in a long dress but it does depend on your shape since I have friends of same height who look great in long. JYM’s Jessica Howard dress also nice.

Ha!
After I saw that Jennifer Lawrence wore J Crew with the rest of her brothers wedding party, I looked at the JCrew wedding site.
. Dresses for the bride, flowergirl & bridesmaids, but MOB & MOG are apparently relegated to the senior shop.

What do you think about pearls?

I think pearls would look great with that dress.

With your coral bag? :

http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/karen-scott-dashy-platform-wedge-sandals?ID=1327697&CategoryID=13808&swatchColor=Coral#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D707%26ruleId%3D27%26slotId%3D3

That dress is stunning!

Cute shoes, but I may just get a little clutch, my coral purse is humongous.

Well my dresses are supposed to come tomorrow, excited to see how they look.
I also need to get some glasses.
Plastic frames cause I have a wideish bridge, & my prescription is -12.00.
D gets her glasses from Warby Parker, but Im hesitant to buy online.
On the otherhand, Costco cant do progressives for me anymore.

I love the dress, though if it were me I’d get tea length because I tend to trip on anything long! For a picnic a denim jacket seems fine. I think shawls are a big pain in the neck, always falling off or getting untied.

“What do you think about pearls?”

I think pearls might be a little dressy and conservative for that outfit with a jean jacket and espadrilles. I hope the dresses look wonderful EK!!!
