My favorite purchase was a LV satchel (40th wedding anniversary and 65th birthday gift). I want to show you a photo but the photo icon is missing!

Great purchase!

I see the photo icon. It’s on the bottom right side of the replay box

Thanks Deb. It appeared now. Sometimes my internet is sketchy in the early morning hours.

That is a gorgeous bag!

Thank you! I’ve never been a fan of the LV brown coated canvas totes and bags, but I liked it on the satchel. Just a touch. It has 4 open pockets on the outside, which I’ll never use as it would distort the outline of the bag. Only one inside zipper. The rest is just open, which I dislike. Why don’t these higher end designers put in more inside dividers or pockets?

I think Michael Kors bags do the best job of that.

(I feel so bougie saying this but….)

We bought the vacant lot behind our beach house. No more worrying about who would buy and develop it. Endless sunsets for us!

I feel so fortunate.

In terms of experiences, definitely our trip to Spain was an amazing purchase. We had some incredibly memorable meals and experiences there. Each day I’d make a 10-20s Instagram “story” so we essentially have a kind of quick daily highlights vlog of the trip that can rewatch.

For purchases, my favorite splurge is the 13” iPad Air + keyboard I’m typing this reply on. I requested it from W as my Christmas present! The bigger screen feels like a huge upgrade over my old 11” iPad Air and is much more friendly to my aging eyes.

I got myself a cozy comfy warm bathrobe and now that the weather is cooler I love it!

Probably the new siding on the house, but as for smaller things, perhaps the 96 yards of fabric I bought at an estate auction from a fabric rep.

I brought the box to show my mom and told her owning craft supplies is a separate hobby from using them as I kind of just like knowing I now have a “stash”. But with it so far I have made new kitchen curtains, backed a quilt with it, lined a couple of tote bags, and have plans for using the fish-themed prints at DD’s house

If you need rx sunglasses, my recommendation is Maui Jim’s. I coughed up the $ to pay for them when I was working outdoors. I’ve never had more crisp vision and vibrant colors with any other glasses.

Our trip to Michigan,
The rock tumblers I bought to polish all the rocks we collected in MI,
The board and training for one of our dogs who acted like a maniac when he sees a dog while on walks,
My new bigger bed with a Saatva mattress and in a lighter finish which really brightens my bedroom,
And my new backpack that I bought myself for Christmas. I love that it doesn’t have a top only entry. It replaces an REI bag that I’ve had for almost 30 years. Yes, I like colorful things!

I’ve been thinking about this thread the last few days. Nothing popped into my head but I thought of two great trips we went on in 2024. It isn’t normal for us to take two expensive trips in a year.
Consumer wise I bought a Breville toaster oven on Black Friday that I’m using a lot. I like the look and I find for just the two of us I use it often instead of my large oven.
For my husband it was a highlight purchase year. He bought a boat and a slip in our local marina. He is in loving it.

My daughter has one of those high end Breville ovens. She originally got it when her first apartment only had a stovetop and a microwave. It does everything - convection, bake, broil, etc. She has since been in apartments with regular ovens, but still uses the Breville for all her cooking. One time she had to bake two trays of food at once and actually forgot she had a “big” oven she could use instead of her Breville.

My younger s and family have the breville air fryer/toaster oven thing, but based on wirecutter reviews, we bought this one for older s and family Cosori 30 Liter Smart Air Fryer Toaster Oven – COSORI

That is me exactly!

We have the one your older son has. I never heard of the cosori

Neither had I!! But they send me the wirecutter reviews of the ones they were considering, and I decided that one half the price of the others, but with (at the time) just as good reviews, was worth a try.

When younger s. got the breville for his family, I found it that day for $80 jess, but he didn’t see my message with the link until it was too late. SO he over paid, but… it is what it is.

I have a regular Cosori air fryer, purchased on the number of positive reviews for less than $100. Works great.

I can’t find the thread/post in which someone recommended a little hot plate to keep coffee/tea warm, but I just bought myself this one and it does the job for $9.99 and it does the job!
