<p>Yeah, let’s not pretend that there isn’t still a sizable number of people who are racist in the United States, to some degree or worse. Of course, as cav said, this does not represent the entire population, but the fact that it happens shouldn’t be too shocking (but should be repulsive).</p>

<p>In the end, UVA has the highest retention rate of black students among any other top (public?) school in the nation. I can’t remember if that was public or not- JBHE should have more information.</p>

<p>Yeah… I am aware of those said programs and was tried to be recruited as a mentor type, but enough of that.</p>
