<p>Honestly? Think about that a little more. I used to think that I’d do crazy things to get what I wanted, but you’ve got to think of the people you affect, etc…look beyond it.</p>

<p>How about just writing a compelling essay and keeping all of your digits and organs in place? I know you THINK that not getting into Brown would be the end of the world, but I assure you your life can be equally successful by going to any number of colleges.</p>

<p>Agreed, 212DAD. I wouldn’t DIE if I didn’t get in, but I would be a little miffed… but I’d get over it. College is what you make of it, and doing your best in a decent one is better than flunking out of an Ivy!</p>

<p>I picked this instead of a chances thread so just lay it on me here
I just moved to the US from Pakistan I was in a highly ranked Cambridge affiliated school there. I gave my Cambridge O levels and got 5 A*s and 5 As my subjects were along the lines of sciences and world history. Ive done senior year here in the US my gpa is 4.0 weighted I have 2 AP classes (calc and lit) and one honors class my SAT score is 2100 (the one thing I really wish was higher but I never gave a PSAT and only gave it once after I got to the US) I have a bunch of extra curriculars and community service hours which isnt an issue and I know essay counts for a lot to but what are your thoughts???</p>

<p>Brown will be a very high reach, given the sheer competitiveness of this year’s applicants. Half the people that applied said that they would cut off a limb to get in…</p>
<p>I would eat a rotting pig fetus, not shower for 3 months, walk naked through my town, and or break an arm or a leg.</p>
<p>I care so little about going to Brown, I don’t why I’m applying.</p>
