Well, a little late to the thread, but yesterday I took a bike ride, read on the back porch, afternoon beach walk, made dinner from all the vegetables left in the garden.

Possible kayak trip today. Otherwise, more walking and biking.

My watch shows I slept 10 hours, 34 minutes at our friends’ house. It’s probably been 20 years since I slept that long.

The high yesterday was 82, which tied a record, and it’s supposed to hit 78 today. I’m not complaining!

We did make it out on the kayaks. Beautiful day! It did not feel like October.

Very fun to see what everyone was doing near and far!

I got my apple cider float this afternoon after completing a partial garage clean out so the weekend was a success!

Celebrated youngest’s birthday on Friday. Netflix marathon on Saturday while ironing, watering plants, laundry AGAIN, with some baking.

Today, Zoo time. Ugh!
Never go to the zoo when they offer free admission to children.

Some parents don’t plan well for snacks, lunches, and toys. Frequent tantrums noted. Families who are typically on budgets should bring their own and stop by the Dollar Store or these kids will melt!

We didn’t get to the fair…but we did do our neighborhood beach clean up, and went to the car show. There were 420 cars! It was so much fun. Most were antique or vintage cars, and just about all were cars that were maintained for shows. So much fun.

And spent two hours each day at our beach…last “summer like” weekend for this year, I think. It was fabulous!

We went to the Mystic Aquarium on a Friday in May because we were in town for a wedding. I swear every elementary school in Connecticut was there for a field trip that day. I saw very little and the noise indoors was deafening.

I never go to ‘free’ days at the zoo, museums, state parks. Never.

This summer my daughter, brother, and I went to the Angkor Wat display at the museum of natural history. It is not cheap, about $25/per, but of course many kids groups are free. The display itself was great, dark, no kids, but afterward trying to get our $25 worth, we went to see other exhibits, like dinosaurs and native birds. Nightmare. Tons of daycare groups, summer camps, summer school outings.
