What's on your list to Santa?

HImom, how did your son like the slackline? My guy decided he only wanted the outdoor one, not the indoor one, but he was out using it at 10 last night.
How did others do, with getting what they wanted or being successful with gifts to others?

How or if does anyone tell H that you don’t like a jewelry gift?

That is a hard one! The more expensive the gift the more important that you love it, however. I’ve commented on the sheer expense by saying “I’d rather go skiing.”

Jewelry is hard. If it cost a lot I want to LOVE it. My husband tends to get in a rut with jewelry. If he finds something I like, he will keep buying it, but I usually only want 1 of something, if you know what I mean.
Different men are different regarding returns. I actually got a piece of jewelry this year that I’m not crazy about, but I am thinking I shouldn’t return it because I don’t want to be “the wife who returns everything anyway, so why bother.”

My husband calls buying jewelry for me “a start”…

My H used to buy me size 10 rings (I have always been a 5), so resizing was a challenge for our jeweler. All the jewelry was purchased in other countries, so I smiled and gushed and had jeweler resize. I finally told H I was out of necks and fingers, so no more jewelry, please and we have both been fine.

S bought me a surface pro 3 with keyboard. H and I will be spending some time learning to use it.

How do you tell your husband you don’t want a new bathrobe?

Hmmm…DH was shopping exercise equipment for us. He wanted a rowing machine. I told him I thought my creaky knee would rebel against it but our body building crazed Son1 told DH the rower was the best thing to buy. So…DH bought the rower. And then the icing on the cake…son1’s gift to us was a really nice set of weights! DH-2 Me-O.

Bless his heart S2 gave me $100 Amazon Gift card.

Well, last night H asked how I liked the jewelry and I’m a horrible liar so I said “Er…uh…not sure when I’d actually wear it.” Guess he knows I’m not in love with it.
He did get us tix for “Book of Mormon” so he definitely came through big time!

As for bathrobes–I’d ask for the receipt.

Well, one year I got 5 pairs of pajamas from H. I think this year’s nothing was better.

“S bought me a surface pro 3 with keyboard. H and I will be spending some time learning to use it.”

I am so used to it by now despite Win 8 that sometimes when I switch to my laptop, I start poking at the screen with my fingers and get mad that it does not react! :)

Well…we went today, and I got a new UGGS bathrobe. It’s actually very nice. Nordstom (where we got it…only place that carried it around here) was the ONLY store at the mall that was not having a sale on robes…of course.

But it’s nice. I guess I’ll ditch the older one…

“Well, one year I got 5 pairs of pajamas from H.”

Pajamas or lingerie? There is a vast difference! :">

My husband bought me a very extravagant gift for Christmas…and it was a shock. It wasn’t jewelry ( I too have run out of hands , necks and ears ) He surprised me with a new car  ! I have had the same car for 12 years and 250,000 miles. We had talked about it a few months ago and decided to wait another year . My daughter knew about it and told me I was going to love what he got me…I thought it would be a Le Creuset pot…He did good

^^^ So glad you like your new wheels! I have to say I think I’d be furious if my H got me a car - too big an item! - I’d want to pick out the car and the options myself!!!

H and I didn’t exchange much, never have. I’m a terrible gift receiver - just prefer to buy things myself. I bought new furniture this fall which was delivered the last few weeks - that was “present” enough for me!

Yea, I get confused about what device I’m using–iPad mini vs. this Surface vs. desktop vs iPhone. I do get annoyed because each of them have a different appearance and way of working with it; So far, it has been pretty interesting learning how to use this new device. H wants us to get Windows iPhones to go with the Surface and plans to get one for himself as well.

@lje, nice!! So how was it presented? Small box under the tree with the car key in it?

Did he know what kind of car you wanted? Color?

Forget about the color! Inquiring minds want to know - did it come with a big red bow on the top?!

We had looked at this vehicle in another color a few months ago and decided to wait until next year. It is the same model I have been driving for the last 12 years and that one has been the best car I have ever had ( also never held on to a car that long ) Husband says It’ll be 15 more years for this one. It happens to be the color I would have chosen and I think they all come fully loaded.
No red bow, but he went to great lengths to hide it and he succeeded ! I walked out into my backyard twice early Christmas morning and didn’t notice it …I would have had to peer over the fence.
He hid the remote in my Christmas stocking and I thought he just got me a new remote, since mine has broken…a little slow on the uptake
We all piled in and took it for a spin around the neighborhood, pajamas and all !
