“Confidential” can be used to mean “trustworthy.” Mostly it’s for alliteration. I’m not always halcyon either.

In all seriousness, I’ve accidentally come across three kids from my D’s relatively small school on this website. They do little to mask their username, or identifiable school and activity information.
How much confidential information anyone shares is up to the person sharing it.
I’m not a Greatkid but we have one.
In a few years of membership here I have only identified one person that I was familiar with. Privacy is easily maintained if someone wishes to.
I think mostly it is confidential which posters actually have a clue what they are talking about.
It’s because we give you the inside scoop… on the down low (or low down, or whatever).
I’m not the president of the University of Wisconsin (in which case, I would be the chancellor, not the president…), nor Bucky Badger, but sometimes I wish either or both were the case.

I interpreted the name ‘college confidential’ as getting insider tips on admission, financial aid, etc
Come to think of it, a lot of personal information does get talk about on this site, but it is confidential because it is made exclusively for high school and college students, which means in a sense it is hidden from the older adults.
You don’t think there are adults reading your posts? Hahaha!
