What's your favorite movie/TV wedding?

How about that gorgeous chapel in Mamma Mia? The movie was kind of boring but scenery was beautiful!

And I still laugh thinking about the wedding scene in She’s Having a Baby.

Sound of Music. When I was a child, I always said I wanted that music as my processional and hoped I could walk down an aisle long enough to hear it all until the “problem” part started. 32 years ago I walked down the aisle to that very song in the college chapel of H and me. Call me cheesy, but I LOVED it!

The Modern Family wedding.

I just read something interesting about the wedding gown Scarlett wore in GWTW - it was fitted on the actress who played her mother, not on Vivien Leigh. That was because, in keeping with historical accuracy, Scarlett would have worn her mother’s wedding gown since there wasn’t enough time for her to have her own made in the first days of the war. (Another fun fact for GWTW fans - Barbara O’Neil, who played Scarlett’s mom, was only 3 years older than Vivien Leigh.)

So nice of you to ask, @bookworm! It was an evening, medium-ish wedding (80 guests) in Central Virginia, at an event venue that’s a renovated older home with a ballroom extension attached. The wedding party was large because, as my d said, she has a 2-sister and 2-sister-in-law handicap and wanted to ask her 3 best friends to be attendants as well. They wore wine-colored strapless dresses, and the bride wore a gorgeous princess-style dress that I never in a million years would have thought she’d choose. But the saleswoman knew my d better than I do! The flowers, food, and service were wonderful. I’m still exhausted, though.

I think one of my favorite TV episodes about a wedding was on “Friends,” when Monica and Chandler were in Las Vegas to get married, but Ross and Rachel wound up married instead.

My favorite movie wedding scene, didn’t culminate in a wedding.
But still romantic.

My Best Friend’s Wedding

It changes over time, they get outdated in my brain, just like our old kitchen…
And now it is “Something Borrowed”

I too loved the Sound of Music wedding. My big sister gave me the soundtrack (on vinyl) back in the day and I wore out the record listening to the music over and over again. I think it was some of the inspiration for going on to major in classical organ. And in the movie itself, the whole scene was visually stunning. I’m with you, @dentmom4!

The nuptials for Agent 99 and Agent 86 in ‘Get Smart.’

^^ haha - I forgot about that! I also confess to loving the wedding in 27 Dresses. My guilty pleasure when the boys are out of the house.

“Coming to American”- Although the first ceremony was stopped by the king the song “She’s your Queen to Be” was hilarious!

I admit I cheated by Googling best tv weddings, but how about Pam and Jim’s wedding, from The Office, not to mention Leslie and Ben from Parks & Rec?

I loved the wedding in Sound of Music so much that we had the processional song from the movie at our wedding.

Just watched a rerun of Parks & Rec with April and Andy’s wedding. I loved it … they were so genuinely happy to get married, and it just seemed so “right!”

The (very brief) wedding scene in Camelot. All those candles!!

Am I the only one who still remembers Maria’s wedding on Sesame Street?

I don’t have anything new to add, but I have been enjoying this thread. :)

Oh gosh that’s a very easy one for me. Outlander, season one episode seven: The Wedding. Sex, humor, romance, more sex, more humor, more romance. And just a little danger.

@dmd77 - I remember!!

The Graduate.

Grimm–a decapitation, attempted murder, intense drama, sex with someone who appeared to be someone else, beautiful sweet bride, werewolf groom, what more can anyone want?

Oh come on…wasn’t it Luke and Laura’s wedding??
