when did the definition of fourth year change?

I’m trying to course-action into a course that is for fourth-years only.

The department assistant is saying that I’m not a fourth-year. Technically this is kind of true – I graduate in May 2012.

But currently I have 100 credits because of overloading – according to the CLAS rules, don’t I have fourth-year standing?

Is there any way to appeal to a higher authority and get an override on her decision? Thanks. I really really really need to be in this class.

if the lady says no don’t you think it would make for an awkward semester to force her to let you in?

Well no this is the department assistant – she’s not the professor.

Perhaps you should be talking to an academic dean, not an assistant (or College Confidential, for that matter)?
