Because I have a younger brother, I would definitely visit home; thus, I’d also favor a college that is nearby over one that is across the country (stanford lulz)

What about you guys?

Also, please specify if you are the youngest or oldest sibling. I want to see if that has a role in whether you visit home.

Hi, I’m the older sibling and I’ll be off to college next year. Since the rest of my family will be across the Pacific, I’m probably not going to visit each year, but definitely at least once every other year. Travel expenses would have to come out of my pocket, so I can’t afford to go home very often. Thus, I’d very much prefer going to a Northern East coast college as I’ve never lived somewhere snowy. On breaks I’d probably just chill on campus playing WoW or go to Yugioh tournaments (yes, I play that) and pwn 12-year-old n00bs :P

I’m the youngest of two. My sis is a senior in college, and I’m a senior in high school. She comes home every break she gets (Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, a few weeks in the summer), but I don’t plan on coming home save Christmas and a week or two in the summer. That’s why I want to go to school on the other side of the country. Time for something new, y’know?

Are you guys for real? I’ll do my best to come home any chance I get. I do have a younger sibling (and an older one too) but if I didn’t, I’d come home anyway because I’ll miss my parents like crazy.

I’d like to visit, if I can would be another story.

If I go to college in Japan/Korea some place far, I would probably only come home for a month or so for Summer. If I go to a college in New England, I’d probably come home once, and they’d come up once a year.

Younger brother but I’ll probably visit home to see my friends during the breaks and visit my teachers/friends at my (then former) high school. That’s how we roll at my tiny private school xD

Yes, I am planning to visit home as much as possible. I’m really close to my mom. Also, I haven’t had such strong bonds with my family over the last couple of years, but am working on improving that. I am an older sibling; I have one younger sister. I am planning to go to college in my state to be closer to my family and also because I love CA and the weather :)

yep my family is pretty chill. I have an older sister who will be attending UPenn and a younger brother. I applied to UPenn early decision, and I live in NJ so I will probably commute for some weekends.

I’m the younger sibling and my older sister visits all the time, which I love/need. I’d like to visit too, which is why I favor my East coast schools over my West coast ones.

I’m the oldest and I’m pretty sure my parents will literally have to force me to come home for Thanksgiving/Christmas etc. I would love to come back to Miami (I’m planning to go out West), but not back to my family. Maybe I’ll just stay with a friend haha

The colleges I’m looking into are all about six hours away driving, so it would be easy enough to get rides home for bigger holidays, especially since I’m going to a feeder school from my area. But I’m not sure I want to. My dad’s family lives a little bit farther away, but it has been rough amongst them, so I’m not sure where things will be at this time next year. Then again, I’m not sure I want to waste a six to ten hour drive just to eat Thanksgiving with people I only am around because they’re related.I might come home just to see my mom, but yet again, I really don’t know yet.

I’ll come home for christmas, summer, and maybe spring break if I’m on the east coast. More frequently if I end up at L&C, Whitman, or OSU. I definitely want to come home to visit my friends as well as my family

I’m hoping if I go to the east coast my younger brother will follow me there two years later, he has his sights set on Berklee. If not, he and I will skype aaaall the time.
