Where are my hockey fan friends?

I started a similar thread last year and we had a great discussion through the playoffs. I’m wondering if anyone is watching these first round games this year. As I mentioned last year, every game is televised here so I’m already exhausted and the first round isn’t even over yet!

There’s been some great hockey played already and the number of Game 7 situations is wonderful. Very exciting for the fans, albeit nervewracking. I’m happy to see the Caps, Predators and Flyers through (although I was secretly cheering for the Sabres). I was kind of hoping that Chicago would beat Vancouver, and I’m not familiar enough with the Sharks to really have an opinion on their series. Two big Game 7 games tonight and am hoping for Montreal and Pittsburgh to emerge victorious. There will be a lot of switching back and forth in our house.

So, who else is watching? CardinalFang? Garland? Justamomof4? Blankmind? Countingdown? Rachacha? Gloworm?

Licking my wounds here after the Sabres failed to finish the job. Without Roy and Hecht, then losing Pominville and Connolly, it was an uphill battle, but battle they did. Maybe next year. Not sure who I’ll root for now, but I will be forever grateful that hockey will continue until June. The beginning of the baseball season is a bore as far as I’m concerned.

It shouldn’t have taken Vancouver 7 games to win that series.

SAD SABRES FAN HERE :frowning:

I played women’s hockey when I lived in Canada (100 years ago). I met my husband when I joined a co-ed league in the States. D1 is named after a famous Sabre…we are all about hockey!

DH lives & breathes SABRES…so we are sad in our house too. Really wish they had put it away at home in game 6. :(

As for the rest of the field, we will swing our loyalty to the Predators for the duration of the play-offs. (We live near Nashville) Tonight’s Boston/Montreal is the game to watch for us.

I’m watching the red wings. :)

Sharks fan here, though as always, we wait on bated breath to see if they can pull it together the next round. Though Jumbo Joe Thorton looks intense this year.

And yes, we were hoping for the Black Hawks, as we are tired of seeing the Redwings in the playoffs.

Predators fan here! GO PREDS … BEAT THE CANUCKS!

Tired of the Red Wings? Perish the thought!

Sooooooo glad the Blackhawks are toast…

Sad Blackhawks fan here. On to the Kentucky Derby and Uncle Mo.

Sad to see the hawks out. That luongo is such a headcase. I can’t stand him. Now, I don’t know where to put my loyalties. I guess I’m going to have to move on to basketball, though I will be an admittedly fair weather fan on this one, given the ridiculousness of men that large playing on an NBA sized court. (they should make that court larger, imho.)

So, I’m up for grabs. I could go for anyone but Vancouver or Detroit, I’m up for convincing. Give me your arguments.

??? How can anyone not be a Caps fan?

A happy viewer last night…who was still very happy this morning :)

I know…I’m alone on this board…sigh…but hey, it might be my last and only chance to gloat gloat gloat. Did I say I was happy?

Caps fan here!!

I was thinking of you when the Canucks won, starbright.

I’m always sad for the fans of the teams that get knocked out but then I remember that I never get to cheer for my hometown team AT ALL in the playoffs so I guess fans should be happy that their team got to play in the postseason, even if it’s not more than one series.

My H is actually going to be at the game in Pittsburgh tonight but I’ll be watching here with a few friends and two of my Ds, and switching back and forth to the game in Boston. Here’s hoping for the Pens and the Habs!

I actually would have liked to have seen the blackhawks advance, too.

I felt bad for phoenix. We swept them, and the fans have no idea if the team will be moving now so that may have been their last game ever in Phoenix. I can’t imagine how disappointed I would be.

P.S. Yeah, Detroit is tired of playing San Jose, too. :P

We just finished up the last of the college visits last week with a lot of dinners in sports bars because h&s simply must see playoff hockey.

Sadly, the Sabres, Kings, and Blackhawks have all let us down :(. The only question now is who to root for.

On a slightly related note, s has decided to attend University of Minnesota (yikes), and hockey is partly to blame.

I’m right here, a bit sad about the 'Hawks but ready for a tough Sharks-Wings series. The Wings are scary good.

Too bad for the Yotes fans (both of them) that the last game in Glendale was a loss. But I’m ready for Sharks-Jets next year: cue up the West Side Story music.

Bad luck for the Hawks. Luongo and crowd avoided a terrible playoff choke. And speaking of choking-- when your team is up 4-zip, they should win. I turned that Sharks-Kings Game 3 off when it was 4-0. Good thing I turned it back on again when it was 4-1.

Hawks fan here, but I really didn’t expect them to go too far, seeing as how they backed into the playoffs. I really would like to see another O6 team win, but we’ll see.

Like poet, I’ll follow the Bulls, but I’m really a fan, not fair weather.

And… Go Real Madrid!!!

not a parent…but a big canucks fan! You’re not alone starbright. Go 'nucks!!!

Also, chicago isn’t much of a team…basically hawks=crawford and that’s that. Canucks is a real team!!! WOOOO.

Go Blackhawks! … I guess I have to go with the Bruins … and by the end of the night I may have no team left … yikes!
