Where are my hockey fan friends?

WOO HOO … how 'bout those Preds!!! Rinne had some really great saves!

Ah alwaysamom, we hockey fans certainly can be one-sided in our views, can’t we? I think my Bruins play good hard hockey and you see cheap shots. The Boston Globe had some really good articles about the cheap play of the Canadians and I’m sure the Canadian papers wrote about the Bruins’ behavior.
Cardinal Fang - Noon games take you back to when you played youth hockey, right?
Good luck everyone as the playoffs continue and GO BRUINS!

^^ So I guess you bought Ference’s claim that his ‘glove malfunction’ was unintentional? Although I agree that fans can be blinded to their team’s shortcomings, shall we say, I’m not even a Canadiens fan, and I think you’d find similar comments about Lucic, Chara and Ference from people all across our two countries. As I said, when even Don Cherry is commenting on his beloved Bruins behavior, there’s something to the claims. I do like Tim Thomas, though, and love Kaberle after all the years of having him in Toronto. I hope that they, along with Danny Briere for the Flyers, play well in this series and that they make it exciting for the fans in both cities.

I think the noon games are strange, too, but I admit that I did love last Saturday when the first game started at noon and there was literally hockey on all day long!

I didn’t play youth hockey because I started as an adult, but I sure remember watching my son play hockey at all hours. One thing I don’t miss is driving to hockey practice early in the morning before the sun came up.

Aren’t like 70% of all NHL players Canadians anyway?

Cardinal Fang - In my house, I referred to those 6 am practices and early morning games as male bonding time!

powerbomb - I was referring to the Montreal team, not the country!

CanadiEns are the hockey team.

Canadians make up the largest % at ~53 or 54%, still more than double the next largest group, the Americans.

How unlucky for the Caps. They’ve been all over Tampa Bay for a period and a half and to have a flukey goal go in off Greene’s skate, what a shame.

For me, not so much, because I’m a woman.

I thought Dogwood meant Canadians in general (s/he did spell it Canadians)…And are Canadians really only 53%? They seem to comprise a much a larger percentage on every team’s roster…

powerbomb,

[National Hockey League - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“National Hockey League - Wikipedia”>National Hockey League - Wikipedia)

There’s a breakdown for the origins of NHL players. The figures are similar to those I’ve seen elsewhere.

so depressing

Some teams have more Canadians, some less. The Sharks skaters are almost all Canadian, but the Red Wings have hardly any Canadians.

On edit- depressing that what?

My guess is that soccerguy is depressed with the outcome of tonight’s game. What a tough loss for the Caps.

yea… depressed about the Caps. sigh

Sharks win, Red Wings lose, Bolts win. What, I thought to myself, could make the day even better? But I didn’t even imagine, “Navy Seals take out Osama bin Laden.” We can all be happy about that, whatever our hockey loyalties.

Darn those Canucks! :(

Canucks!!! Sorry, but trashville shouldn’t even be in this game. Rinne’s the only reason they’re hanging on!

Definitely not a good night for Nashville. I should have gone to bed earlier! :)

That was a bogus penalty call in OT. Kesler holds Weber’s stick, and Weber gets called for it? Bogus.

Can’t wait for the Canucks to blow this series. Nothing like rewatching '94 all over again.
