Enjoying the nice weather that has finally arrived in Toronto!

Looks like it’s going to back to Vancouver for game 7, which will be nice for Vancouver fans, if they win, of course. I know that the team itself would prefer to win it tonight even on the road because they’ll have their families with them there but I still like to think that it’s nicer to win it in front of your own fans.

Stupid, stupid penalties on the part of the Canucks. Good grief. Giving the Bruins a 5 on 3 when you’re down 4-1 is just plain dumb.

OK, I am befuddled after last night (not really with the game) over how they treated the injury to Mason Raymond. If anyone here saw the hit, I’d appreciate your comments.

For those who didn’t see it, he took a really hard hit into the boards at a really awkward position. He was down on the ice (on his stomach) for about five minutes before a couple of teammates were able to help him up on his feet and basically glide him off. He was x-rayed in the locker room and taken to the hospital, where it has now been reported that he sustained a vertebrae compression fracture.

What the #*($#&%^#^) were the trainers thinking in having someone who has a back injury get up on their feet, instead of bringing a stretcher out?!?

We were asking the same question! After laying face down for so long we could not believe when they let his teammates help him up and skate him off the ice. Then he collapsed stepping off the ice and the trainers basically dragged him off to the locker room. What the heck?! I felt sick to my stomach watching it and yelled at the tv, “Get him a stretcher!”

In addition to being a Bruins fan, I’m a Cubs fan, so I’m very good at the long-suffering part of loving a team but I really, really hope the Bruins win!

I work with Vancouverites, so know how excited they were about this series. But was rooting for the Bruins… So I couldn’t tell for sure on the TV, but I got the impression that the Vancouver fans were booing so loudly that the announcer was having trouble being heard when awarding the trophys after the game. I know it was a sad loss, but c’mon… can’t think of that happening in another sport.

I’m so excited!!! Go Bruins. I thought the Vancouver fans were really terrific - and I love how they all sing the anthem together - but didn’t understand why they were booing the commissioner. Can someone explain?

The Vancouver fans actually cheered the Bruins in a classy way. The booing was for Bettman, the commissioner of the NHL. Canadians are not fond of Bettman, as they feel he has made decisions which favour the Americanization of hockey at the expense of Canadians.

That wasn’t an ‘announcer’. It was NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman who is despised everywhere he goes, including the cities in the U.S. that have NHL teams.

It was a very disappointing performance by the Canucks. The Bruins played well last night and deserved to win. It’s hard when a team loses in Game 7 of the finals to appreciate all that they’ve accomplished this season, and the Canucks did have a fantastic season, the best in the NHL. I enjoyed seeing Tomas Kaberle lifting the Cup with such joy on his face. After 13 years of being a Leaf, to have that happen a year later is wonderful for him. The fans were classy cheering their team at the end and also cheering for the Bruins, and especially Tim Thomas. Almost everyone stayed in the arena until the celebration was complete.

The small number of idiots afterwards who felt the need to start fires and cause havoc made me very angry. What is it with some young men when they get in a mob that turns them violent and with total disregard for other peoples’ property? I hope that the police arrested all of them and that they had the pleasure of spending the night in jail.

Thanks to all who participated in our hockey playoffs discussion this year! It was fun, once again. :)

I agree. I thought the Vancouver fans were pretty terrific - cheering both their beloved Canoucks and the Bruins - pretty classy. It is a shame that a few idiots make the city look bad. I was happy that the Bruins fans seemed to behave themselves. We are lucky that Boston has had a little more experience with winning championships and the police are pretty knowledgeable at handling the aftermath. A great championship series.

It was especially nice to see the reception the crowd gave Milan Lucic, a Vancouver native, when he hoisted the Cup. Hockey fans really do revere and respect the Cup and all who win it.

Yep, look idiot up in the dictionary and there is a picture of bettman.

Congrats to the Bruins. I chose to vote for you guys when the Hawks went down to Vancouver and was not disappointed. I love when the old teams win.

Congratulations to Vancouver on a hard fought cup match. I’m certain we will be seeing you guys in Chicago again next year. ;)
