Where Are You Going to School & Why? Don't Be Shy :D

Alright, SPILL! Where is your next step in life or what college/university have you been attending since high school? Don’t forget to mention why. Be proud of where you’re going and THAT YOU’RE GOING and don’t be shy to tell us WHO IS (or will be) EDUCATING YOU.

I’m going to Indiana University because I couldn’t get into UIUC.

I go to Sonoma State University.

I chose it because it is very small for a state school (~8,000 students), and the Psych department (I’m a Psych major) is VERY good. We also get a lot of professors from Berkeley, Davis, etc. who don’t want to research anymore, so the professors are top notch (most of them).

It’s also far enough away from home that I had to live on-campus, but I can fly home in an hour and a half and drive home in a day. I love it.

San Jose State University

It’s cheap, it’s in a pretty populated area with lots of jobs (i have to work and make a living while I’m here), it’s far enough away from home where I have to live on my own, it’s not a super “spirited” school and fits my needs, my department (biology) actually kinda sucks but I didn’t really consider that to much (the other considerations were more important).
basically it’s cheap… that was the kicker. :)

I go to Arizona State University because of a big scholarship and a pretty good honors college. It’s pretty good, just hate how far away it is from my home town, and how hot it is. Hate when people look down on ASU as only a party school.

Going to Santa Monica Community because I will not accept a degree from anywhere besides UCLA.

Columbia.

Because I’m not into the other local alternatives.

@ cowman: You have the right idea, brother. Do well and have a good time at UCLA!

I go to UNC-Chapel Hill because it is awesome. :)

Going to UC DAVIS! Because its close to home and the Bay!

Boston University, most likely :]

Where? A medium sized private college in NC. Why? Because with my scholarship(s) I am getting a relatively dirt cheap private college education that costs a tiny tiny bit more than my state school. yay  Plus, springtime here is so pretty…shame the flowers are only in bloom for a few weeks. :(

University of Chicago, because I got slaughtered by the Ivies and because NYU and UMich are too expensive.
I’m not disappointed at all, though. :D

Le Moyne College because:

1) It has a great nursing program.
2) I got a scholarship.
3) I felt at home when I visited.
4) It’s close to home, but not too close.
5) The size, especially of the classes.

I was actually shocked how generous they are with scholarships. They offered me $10k a year ($40k total!) to go there and I’m an OOS student. I got a decent (but not nearly as good offer) from Ohio State, but it wasn’t such an important factor for me nonetheless.

I’m going to Ohio State because of all the opportunities available at such a large campus, its research, alumni, etc, the sports, the spirit, and the location.

Pomona College, because I felt at home the moment I set foot on the campus.

It also happened to be cheaper than going to my in-state college on its best scholarship.

Augustana College(IL)

Full ride, small school, and great pre-professional program. Nice people too. Plus if I want to get away I’m 2 hours from home or I can just go visit one of my many relatives that live in the same city as the school! Free laundry anyone?!

Georgetown. It’s the best college that I got into. At first, I was disappointed because I wanted to go to Brown; but I realized that Georgetown is the best college/ place for the career I want (Foreign Service).

The University of Oklahoma!!!

It is perfect in every way I could ever have imagined. Nuff said.

University of Florida.
It’s cheap, good for my major (Biology/Biochemistry), didn’t have qualifications to get into the ivies.
