oo… now im pretty straight about doing the 4+1. i’ll do it for the extra 20k anyday

is the 4+1 the concurrent bs ms electrical engineering degree?? don’t you have to get accepted to that in like your second year or something? i wanna do that too

yeah… i think the dean said u have to maintain a relatively high gpa (3.2+?) and you apply for that your junior year.

sweet…im gonna try and do that. an ms will look really good and the senior project and masters thesis is concurrent

EDIT
i checked with the official requirements for the 4+1 and you need to have a cumulative gpa of 3.5 or above when entering junior year.

what if something happens in your fifth year?? like an emergency…are you still able to at least submit a request for a BS?

what do u mean if an emergency occurs? what kind of incident are you referring to?

i just mean like what if something happens or if you start doing bad…can you at least still pick up a BS since you already have those courses

im not sure… we’d prolly have to ask the professors or counselors. as long as you finish the required units and do the senior project, you should get the BS right? that would imply that you’re doing “well” in your 5th year ![]()
does that make any sense?

kinda … i was just wondering what the downside was to the whole thing or if there was one. if for some reason i was unable to finish my 5th year, would i be in a situation like with a 4 year university for a bs or ba and then not finishing when ur in your 3rd or 4th year and not getting and as or aa out of it?

I dont think Cal Poly gives out AS or AA degrees.

AS AA is a JC degree… BS or BA at SLO!

no no…i know that. i just meant the ms bs program is kinda like trying to get a bs but not finishing and not getting any degree whereas if you just went to a JC you could have at least gotten an aa or as

true… you have a point

Cal Poly is a Comprehensive University. Of all the public comprehensive Universities in California I don’t believe there is one that offers and AA degree. There are programs in universities that can help in accredation for a job or something like that. However, JC’s were the ones meant for an AA degree.
