the college kids who party themselves to a pulp, where do they end up after graduation??
like the ones that do drugs and party, but manage to stay in school.
ex: like the lindasy lohans and paris hiltons…without the plethora of cash and status to keep them out of trouble.

All of my relatives that went to college in the last half century were “hard partiers”, but also pretty smart people (mostly Yale and Cornell… I have a complex now about going to Ohio State). They are now doctors and successful business people. Sometimes I think that a lot of the hard partiers have a better grip on reality than most of the whiney pseudo-intellectuals of CC like to admit.

Just because you party hard, doesn’t mean you are an imbecile. If anything, it means you know how to connect with a lot of different people, you know what is important, you know what people want, you know how to market yourself, and you like to take risks. Even if it is shallow, I bet a lot of these people are not as dumb as you may think and probably don’t represent the celebrity examples you mentioned, who truly are idiots.

In regular-people world, “hard partiers” either:
A) Sink, and fail out of school, or
B) Swim, and end up doing well because they learn how to balance work and play

In celebrity world, everyone’s so wealthy that they don’t have to worry as much about the consequences of hard partying; even if their image/reputation is damaged, there will always be people who love 'em.

As for myself, I don’t have the high-risk-taking genes that would enable me be happy as a hard partier, even if given the right environment for it.

I thought of him when I saw this thread. Tucker is a great example for this. I loved how his law school internship fiasco made him a god in the legal world… But I doubt he can get a job as a lawyer anymore… Not that he needs one.

His [mis]adventures that he published in a book and on his website, being an extremely witty ******* and “telling it how it is”, while being extremely successful, and having a really bad movie made about his adventures (sort of).

The President of the United States of America resides in the White House.

George W. Bush, the president before Barack Obama, was a notorious partier at Yale (let’s say we pass out drunk loaded with cocaine in Princeton’s end zone?).

I think it is a good thing. I’m happy Obama said he smoked weed and partied in college too. I think that should be required of all our politicians, to show us that they are normal ****ing people who don’t hide behind an ultra-moralistic curtain and then crack and then we find them soliciting sex at airport bathrooms.

Yeah, partiers are either sink or swim…I know plenty that have literally just dropped out, but a lot of others are actually really smart, but know how to balance fun and know the right times to party…then again my dad isn’t too smart, almost failed out of college, partied almost everyday and is now VP of a big company…so yeah, it’s random.

There is a ridiculous amount of truth in this thread!

1) LogicWarrior is spot-on! Stoners become/are Democrats. The drinkers become republicans…I’m obviously generalizing.

2) Tucker Max is amazing. That guy is hilarious. I bought his book last year at an airport, and I must say, it makes me laugh even when re-reading his tales multiple times.
