where do i stand?!?!?!

<p>ok, i’m starting to think about what schools i should apply to (saftey, match, and reach), so where do you think i stand with UVA</p>

<p>Female, Alexandria, VA (northern VA)
SAT: 2050
SAT II: Math1: 720
GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 4.3 weighted – full IB candidate
EC: newspaper (managing editor- 2 years), lit mag, spanish club, spanish honor society, key club, NHS (president), tutoring kids weekly, creating a newsletter for a company, tons of volunteering, volleyball, band in 9th grade
Summer activities throughout high school: photography class, hollins u. summer program, boston u. summer program, writing for an animal newsletter
Honors: Academic Excellence in Sports- 9th grade, Excellence in English Award- 3 years and running, Excellence in Journalism- 11th grade, Quill & Scroll- 11th grade, 1st chair flute- 9th grade, article published in local nes magazine
Alumni- my grandmother and my dad both graduated from UVA</p>

<p>SO . . . where do i stand???</p>

<p>i see UVA as a safety cause i dont see them rejecting you cause your instate with great stats</p>

<p>I would argue that nobody should use UVA as their safety school, while it would seem likely that the OP will get in, you should always have a true safety.</p>

<p>I know of several people who used UVa as their safety school, myself included.</p>

<p>welp, dunno…i think you were stupid for doing that, you could’ve gotten burned because I’ve heard of many people getting into Ivies and not UVA. I maintain that it shouldn’t be anyone’s safety.</p>

<p>Stupid for doing that? As an instater, I felt entitled to get in with my stats. Peabody Hall has no business rejecting or WL’ing instaters with stats above a certain level.</p>

<p>i’m not going to make Uva my saftey just because i don’t want to be in a bad situation if i don’t end up getting in. i think i’ll make my saftey VA tech, even though i REALLLLY don’t want to go there!!</p>

<p>I had better stats than yours when i applied, and I viewed UVa as a match.</p>

<p>VTech and UIUC were my safeties, and Penn/Harvard/MIT are the Reaches</p>

SAt II chinese 800, Chem 730.</p>

<p>valedictorian, in state, lots of leaderships and selective awards.</p>

<p>no legacy though. got in michigan honor, uva, tech honor, uiuc honor, cornell. rejected from mit, penn and harvard.</p>
