Where Does Uci Stand For You?

seirously??? Over brown, notre dame, etc.?
whoa
uci is totally a safety for me, i just dont see how its any good at all
if u have chp and so on then that obviously makes a diff

UCI with CHP is all the way at the bottom for me. below UCR even

Not that either is bad, but do you really think that the world looks at UCR so differently.

uci= safety for me.

it was ucla, usc, ucb, (tie between uci and cal poly)

i was rejected from ucla so im appealing.

uci = safety for my son too…

accepted to UCLA!

still waiting anxiously for Cal’s decision…

two schools:

first choice: ucla
second choice: uci

going to uci cuz i was rejected by ucla.

UCI was my safety. I got into SD which is my dream school, but now I’m having second thoughts for some stupid reasons, which if I say, many of you will criticize me for. but yeah…it might come down to a split between SD and I

UCSD was my first choice, UCI second, UCSC safety, and UCR mega-safety. Got rejected by UCSD and I’m not even gonna bother to appeal since my stats are pretty low for them anyway. Anyway, it’s off to UCI with me. :)

i actually also got into cal poly, ucsd, cslb, and sdsu but i knew that if it was between those schools and uci, i would/ and i am going to uci. the only school i would have gone to (over uci) if i had been admitted would have been ucla.

i got into UCLA and UCSD…but I’m going to UCI for CHP, WHAT WHATTTTT

The CHP is awesome. Get involved, and live in one of the CHP dorms your freshman year. And get to know yackityack!

My best friends to this day are all guys I met in CHP through classes and the dorms.

I can’t really say that UCI was a safety for me since, even though I’m from Southern California (Newport Beach, I actually lived about a mile away from UCI), I moved to Maryland and was considered an Out of State applicant. However, I’ve gotten into five out of the six UCs that I applied to (waiting for UCB of course) which are UCD, UCI, UCSB, UCSD, and UCLA. I was extremely surprised that I was able to get into five UCs, especially UCLA. My ranking for the ones that I’ve gotten into would be

UCLA

UCSD

UCI, UCD, and UCSB tied

UCLA has been my dream school for ten years. Even before I moved to Maryland that was the school I really wanted to go to. But if I get into Berkeley, I really don’t know what I’ll choose. Choosing between UCLA and UCB would be and extremely tough decision to make.

“UCI with CHP is all the way at the bottom for me. below UCR even”

how is that possible. I know that this is an opinion, and in my opinion, as biased as I may be, because I highly regard UCI, that just doesn’t make sense. I mean UCR is a great school, yes it’s the lowest ranked UC, but it still is a top college compared the thousands of other schools in the nation. But come on, UCI overall can never be that low.

Anyways, 90% sure Im going to UCI. I visited it before I applied and love LOVE it!
I also got into CalPoly SLo, UCD, UCSB, UCSC and merced. The other 10% is going for Davis, but I still need to visit that school.

Hello. i am a first year student at UCI with no regents or chp. i plan to apply to the chp program. my gpa is about 3.7. i applied to transfer to usc because i plan on going to a good b-school for my mba. i feel that a good undergrad would lead to good work and eventually lead to good grad school. i hated uci at first cuz i was rejected everywhere else except for sb and riverside w/ regents and whatever their honors program offers. irvine is not too bad, college is really what you make out of it anyway. hope that helps.

UCI was my dream school… so was UCSD… but when I got admitted to these two and 6 other universities, I decided to become an Anteater. There’s just something about Irvine that’s really appealling… other than the fact that they are the only school I know of who offer my major (Psychology and Social Behavior) :-).

UCI was my dream school from like…5th grade to 10th grade. After 10th grade I fell in love w/ UCSB and my parents fell in love with UCLA, but they both rejected me (even if I was accepted to SB my parents probably wouldn’t have let me gone because it’s too far away) so I’m an anteater now. I want to go to SD or LA for grad school though.

I’ll admit, UCI wasn’t my dream school when I applied. I didn’t really know much about it, but that’s mainly because they didn’t have big sports programs. Seriously, that’s the main reason young people know about colleges. All I really knew about UCLA was that they were really good at basketball in the 1960s and 1970s. All I knew about Berkeley was that they had that crazy football play against Stanford in 1982.

But when I got admitted, UCI seemed like the right place for me to go and it was. I also had acceptances from Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, USC, Notre Dame, and Brown. But the cost of UCI (full ride) plus the feeling that I would “fit in” there and not get lost in the crowd made me like it there.

It all worked out for me. I am at a top 15 MBA program right now and I didn’t have to transfer to USC to do it.

alicantekid, did you mean Irvine has a top 15 MBa program? or you going to go to one?
i’m just wondering because i’m going to major in econ, but I want to go get a MBA after undergrad and i don’t know if I should switch to the management major. And I don’t plan to stay at Irvine for grad school

what is CHP?

tastemyhypocrisy-

I am going to a top 15 MBA program (top 11, actually), but I did undergrad at UCI. So I’m saying that you can get to these places from Irvine.

There is no management major. It’s a minor.

sneak - CHP = Campuswide Honors Program
