Hi, I’m a person who has lived in different countries throughout life since I was a kid and I have thereby also gained a diverse educational/cultural experience.

Although I never considered it as an asset until I read that many employers like “international people”, now I’m starting to realize that especially in today’s world it is actually useful to be mobile and might also come in handy from a career-point of view.

What I’m wondering is whether - given my personal experiences - I should make use of this potential and make it an aim to do gain more experiences “abroad”, or rather aim on developing my technical/hard/non-transferable skills and go/settle wherever I can get that done (even if it’s where I have already been).

Where I have already lived and studied:
Age 0-7: Sri Lanka/Maledives/Emirates
Age 7-13: Germany/Italy
13-18: France/UK
and I’m currently studying at a university in Italy.

For a long time I have dreamed of going to East Asia next and have also started studying Japanese… but I’m someone who likes to wayfare where other people rarely go. I was also interested in China for a long time, but the interest is fading away because everyone is studying Chinese after all this hype about China’s economic boom.
It’s nothing against China, but it’s because of my personality which always wants to go where others do not go.

Where would you suggest me to go next? And why?
