I’m visiting campus soon, and I want to know where I need to grab a bite. Many college campuses across the nation have iconic places to eat or grab a dish from.
What are PSU’s iconic places to eat?

The two locations that come to mind as “iconic” are The Diner and the PSU Creamery. The Diner is iconic due to their sticky buns. The creamery is obviously known for the ice cream. Iconic unfortunately doesn’t automatically translate to good. Even though the sticky buns are well known, I personally don’t like them, and the food at The Diner is just so-so. I would just stroll down College Ave and see if anything looks good to you. Personally, I would lean towards either The Corner Room or The Deli, but wherever you go, save room for desert and definitely hit the creamery (near East Halls)! If you want to eat on campus, there are multiple options within The Hub, where you can eat along side existing students. Good luck!

DadinMD is right, other than the Creamery (on campus and a must) we don’t have that iconic eatery that some schools have. But there are lots of choices downtown, and the Corner Room is probably the one most linked to tradition because of its location and longevity. The Tavern has been around forever, too, but that’s more the place students go to eat when their parents are in town. The diner and its “grilled stickies” used to be required late night dining, but not anymore. The Green Bowl on Beaver Ave. is fun. Canyon Pizza is notorious. Cozy Thai is very good and always crowded. If you’re not from this region, go to Five Guys for excellent burgers and fries. Enjoy your visit!
Most of our places to eat are more iconic when youre drunk…college pizza…canyon pizza…RU hungry (which isnt really iconic) - the corner room is cool but its nothing special in my opinion…just casual American dining. The bar scene is what State College dowtown is known for more
