My daughter is planning on probably going into Mental Health work, most likely into Physcology - preferably child/adolesent.

Her other passions/interests are writing (a 34 I think on ACT’s) and art. She says her ideal career would be doing “art therapy” for abused kids.

What I am wondering is if there are any schools that come to mind that offer a good undergad program that would have a mix of all 3 of these especially with a good mix on the writing and art since most schools have similar undergrad psych programs. Or are some undergrad psych programs more geared towards those going on to do clinical practice as opposed to research or “occupational” type classes.

Ideally she would like to be within 4 hours of Madison Wisconsin, although open to all ideas if there is somehting special out there that really fits.

UW Madison is one of her top choices. We have heard that some schools that have great writing programs are; U of Iowa, Coe College in Iowa. Any comments on those vs UW Madiosn or others?

Thanks,
