I am in a community college right now, and was wondering which courses do 4 year universities take into account for transfer GPA?
Is there a general guideline for all of them? (California state and UC campuses)
So far I have completed introductory algebra and intermediate algebra, English 1A (University Parallel reading and writing) and English 96 (Intro to academic reading and writing). Intro Economics,
are only the courses on IGETC the ones that count towards GPA?
Look at your CC’s catalog. Any classes that say UC transferable count into your UC GPA. I’m not sure about privates.
Also, uses assist.org to find your major prereqs, and http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/ for more UC transfer information
For UCs and CSUs, try http://www.assist.org . They calculate GPA from transferable courses.
Transferring can be really confusing and as suggested above, I highly recommend using assist.org
Be sure that you know where you want to transfer and write down a plan of the specific classes you need to take for graduation. Talk to a counselor every semester to make sure that you are taking the right classes. Or go to www.klipclap.com and talk to them to make a schedule for you.
