a) Do forensics camps and journalism camps to strengthen my ECs that I do with school (EIC of Yearbook and Newspaper and President of Forensics) and create a solid focus… I really do love journalism…

or

b) Do a science research internship and join in with the mass of Asians doing the science/premed track. If I do the internship, I can’t do ANY journalism/forensics camps.

I’m aiming for HYP and other top tiers… what do you think I should follow through with?

well… it depends on the legit-ness of the camps or internships
what science internship is it?
if it’s a really prestigious debate camp like Michigan 7 week go for it

I personally think you should do what’s most appealing to you. Besides, standing out from the stereotypical Asian crowd probably wouldn’t be a bad idea.

If I’m EIC of Yearbook + Newspaper and possibly President for Speech, but I’m also interested in science… should I just hold off until college and focus on strengthening my current ECs? I’m taking all APs/Honors Science classes so I’ll still be able to skip intro science in college…

Personally I think that if you were accepted into an of those programs you should consider attendance if your concerned with how it’ll look to colleges as they are quite prestigious.

However, it seems (while you have interests in science) that you would be more interested in following through with a journalistic program.

Unless of course your only looking at journalism to accent the EC’s you already have in which case theres no question.

But genuinely from what I can gather, you should go for the journalism based programs if thats what you want to do.

Honestly it seemed like you just wanted confirmation for what you already knew. Hope I could give you what you want :p.
