Do any of you know which major has the highest average gpa? Someone told me it was poli sci but I was wondering if any of you know where I can verify that. Thanks.

Ethnomusicology.

Does it really? Before undermining the major - you gotta put into context how you get into its program since itâs part of the music school. Completely different âgradingâ methods.

Let me rephrase: Which L&S major has the highest average student gpa?

Why does it matter? You should be concerned with learning rather than grades.

Iâm just asking out of curiosity.

Where have you been the past 30 years?

i heard it was historyâŠlol

It should be history oO;; It doesnât even have that many upper divs.

prolly psych

i wouldnât say psych because itâs the most popular major here.
thus you donât get the same caliber of students youâd get in EE or something; even though youâre only talking L&S, thereâs such a widespread demographic found in psychology as opposed to nearly every major. history or polisci majors have more specific interests than psych; psych is broad, the people taking it are diverse; so i donât think psych majors have the highest GPA.

and iâm a psych major ;)

wouldnt be surprised if it was historyâŠ
no, more like WAC

namaste⊠WAC isnât L&S⊠

You guys are all off.

First off, itâs definitely NOT poli sci or history. Last I read, it was Scandanivian Studies.

id have to go with mimg followed closely by neuroscience. their upper division courses are not called âgpa boosterâ courses by random chance you know

Scandinavian studies.

The truth will set you free.

what percentage of those major people are native or part scandinavian?

Silly - about 2-3 people graduate with a bachelorâs in Scandinavian Studies every 5 years or something as ridiculous as that!

Doesnât matter. You go in, youâre looking at like a 3.8+.

Other than that, go for sociology.

But really, highest GPA doesnât necessarily mean fluffy or easiest. It may just mean that theyâre not curving on an evil curve, like engineering. My grad program curves like bastards, but we sure ainât learning.

What do you mean? OK, I can understand that it has the highest GPA average of all the majors - at the same time, thereâs not a wide-enough pool to say how significant that average is.
Is this really the reputation at our school (or is it in general)? Iâve heard the stereotype of athletes (that choose easy majors) go for things like ___________ Studies or Sociology.
