persephone is a fine name and it starts with a p!!!
it’s kinda long but most people will call you sephi anyway.I still think that name is nice though.

i like the name Persephone but when i told ppl about it they don’t know how to pronounce it or spell it 0,0 plus itz too long and i won’t want to be called w/ its nickname.

but that was a good suggestion

i found out they didn’t receive my application so i have more time to choose name lol

I sent you a pm!

u guys should read this thread , itz hilarious!!! (i recommend reading all of it) =)

Shaniqua, LaToya, or Shananay

Please, do yourself a favor and don’t pick a name ending in “lyn”…you will regret it. It’s so trendy, in a few years, -lyn names with be everywhere! I’m sure your real name is beautiful, and if it isn’t, I’m sure we can come up with a great nickname for it that actually still resembles it. I’m really quite curious to know what your name is, I’d like it if you could PM it to me :)

By the way, I have an Indian friend named Rohini (row-hee-nee) and she hates her name. When she goes to college, she’s going to go by Nina. RohiNI = NIna. Her sister’s name is Abhilasha, and she goes by Abby.

thats weird…i dont know any1 at my school w/ names that end in “lyn” 0,0 i only know one Jacqueline and one Kaitlyn all my life hehe.

I know a lot of ppl w/ the name Nina actually.

Well, she didn’t want a unique name, just one that wasn’t so ethnic. She simply didn’t like the sound of “Rohini” and wanted a more Western name.

The -lyn babies aren’t our generation, they’re the generation after us. All of the most popular names for the year 2000+ end in -lyn: to name a few I have heard of, Roselyn, Ashlyn, Jamielyn, Madilyn, Brooklyn, Gracelyn…UGH! There are so many more beautiful and timeless names out there that WON’T be out of fashion in 5 years. We know these mothers are trying to give their kids unique names–but they’re all trying to do it at once! So now there will only be 1 Ashley but 15 Ashlyns in little Ashlyn Smith’s kindergarten class.

Funny… =)
I know a woman named Gay Cox, a guy named Shining Sun, and there’s a lady I know of who named her child Motorola Quasar Jones.

Definiltey Joslyn.

darn…i really dont want my name to be too common. since i dont know any1s name end w/ “lyn” i thought it’d be a good idea. but after hearing itz only a trend, i’m afraid… =( *cries

I suggest not rushing into any legal change. Your name is so personal and you should make sure you don’t make the decision lightly. Someone in my family just randomly changed his first and last name for his artistic business contacts. He “updated” his first name and used a relative’s name he liked for his last name. Nothing legal or official, but I doubt that many of his business contacts know his real name.

As I mentioned in my pm, you may feel more comfortable to choose a name that starts with your same initial, or has the same meaning as your given name. Also, I would try to select a name that is mellifluous with your last name.

Jalyn is my vote.

well on my paper it will include both my old n new name. or it will say my old name then under it is a.k.a something else.
so i think i can use both names if i’m gonan add lol

So Casper, what name did you decide upon?

If you insist on a name starting with J, you could consider a nice Sri Lankan one like Jayawardhane . Look at the bright side - you’d never have to worry about ID theft.

I like Joslyn

Phoebe is a nice ‘Ph’ girls’ name…

or Phylicia?

A nice P name is Patricia. Patricia Vo sounds nice, plus as a nick name you could do Trisha, which has a nice, modern ring. Also, it’s common enough that people won’t mispronounce it. Another name that I like with a P is Persephone, but it’s a little bit more out there than Patricia.
