UCB-Political Econ
UCLA-Econ
UCI-Business Econ
UCSD-Econ

Major - Political Econ
Ec’s: Golf, Entrepreneurship club, Starting club, Circle K, tutor High school students, Econ tutor, Vice President of MTS Club(Math tech sci.)PTK Member, Honors Society at CC.
Work: 3 jobs One at my CC promoting Cell phone carrier, intern at a banking firm. 35hours/week 40/ summer, Grocery store
Pre reqs: Done by Spring 2012
IGETC: done by spring 2012

Concerns:
Pre reqs left for winter & spring.
2 W’s during High school. One of them in a Pre req.

The pre req i got a W in was a class where the teacher straight up didn’t show up for 3 weeks. So i dropped it, but later on the class got cancelled.

Other class conflicted with my working schedule.

Which school is a good fit for me? and which schools do I actually have a chance at?

As far as what school you are a fit at, that depends on you. You have great stats and an internship at a bank, I believe you have an excellent chance at getting in all your schools.

I advise to visit each school you applied to, or when you get admitted, visit them. Just because its number one on some list doesn’t mean you will feel at home with the school.

Good luck!

u have a chance for all. At long u are not apply for business econ at ucla or business admin at uci, and business ad ucb then ur fine.

Oh, i did apply to business econ at UCI should i be worried about my chances?

I really would love to go to cal hence why i applied for political econ at cal, i hope they are fine with my gpa since i know a lot of ppl have 4.0’s :S

I have visited Cal and UCLA only leaning towards cal more because its closer to home :)

I didn’t say anything about business Econ uci.

Sorry I meant bus admin @ uci

not much of a worry. I say a chance for it.

Econ and business economics are equally impacted at ucla…but I still think you have a fair chance at all of your schools.

average gpa admitted to ucla business econ is around 3.94+ and that was last year. This year rumor may be higher.

yea dude i applied for UCLA Econ loools not bizecon :D

Econ is NO easier than Bus Econ…

there is a noticeable difference between the acceptance rate of UCLA Biz admin and econ…

UCLA doesn’t have biz admin. You’re talking about UCB. But UCLA Econ is just as impacted as Bus Economics…

Well I mostly just care about my chances for Berkeley, for which i applied for political economics how do my chances look for that?

heres the UCLA’s 2011 transfer stats
[Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2011 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof11_mjr.htm)
Business econ - 3.93 gpa avg. 16.52% admit rate
Econ - 3.91 gpa avg. 12.59% admit rate

Cal
in the 2010 decisions thread there were 5 poli econ majors
3 were accepted. their GPA were 4.0, 3.93, 3.7x
2 were rejected. Their GPA were 4.0, 3.6-3.7
heres the thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/920010-official-2010-uc-berkeley-transfers-acceptance-rejection-thread.html

@Stephen, finally some voice of reason lol…His post above proves my statement correct about ucla econ/bus econ.

@UCtransfer, I think you have a great chance for political econ at Berkeley because it is not an impacted major and is in the college of letters and science. You should be fine, assuming you have all of your pre-reqs completed and a relatively high gpa.

Also, I think the students who had 4.0’s and were rejected from UCB Political Econ must have done something wrong with their pre-reqs or something…because there’s no reason for them NOT to get in.

Oh damn, seriously scared now :S What if i finish pre reqs by spring 12? does it make a significant difference?

Like Berkeley is my number one choice too, kinda like Berkeley or bust
sorry i worry a loottt, i dont like the uncertainty :(

^
Nothing you can do now. Better just to relax, focus on winter/spring classes and try not to think about admissions for a while.

I guess so, but i was just wondering if there is a significant impact if i have like one pre req left to go? or does it matter if i finish the pre reqs before spring?
