hey guys,
im definitely too young at the moment to apply for an internship but im planning on applying when i turn 18 or finish up college.

how are you guys managing to fit the internship into your lives? id assume its hard to do so especially if some of you guys are still going to college.

i was planning on receiving a bachelors degree in my home state, then move to recieve a medical diagnostic sonography degree in george washington university. while attending george washington university, do you think it would be possible to be apart of the internship and successfully complete both things?

also, since the internship is pretty much a non-pay job, how are you guys going to manage your finances and money for food? are you getting a job on the side?

sorry, but if you could answer my questions, that would be great.

I’m a college freshman and I’m doing it over the summer, as I really have no other plans. I suppose if I don’t get the internship then I’ll assume a part-time job or find another internship.

And as far as finances go, I’m hoping that I can find an apartment somewhat near the White House for less than $2,000 for the three month duration. Compared to $40,000 a year for college tuition it should be a steal. :P

I haven’t heard anything either. But I did call today to ask about submitting an application for the Fall semester if not accepted for the summer. The person on the phone said all those who are not accepted will get a chance to send in their applications for reconsideration in the Fall. As for interviews they will be contacted on rolling basis, but she did not disclose if notifications for interviews have started. So hopefully we will all be hearing soon !!

Remember that from what we gathered from previous cycles, some departments do interviews, some don’t, so you might just get the internship outright without being notified of an interview. My attitude is just to breathe deeply and go about my daily life, if we worry too much, too much other work falls by the wayside.

The internship team must be doing something different this cycle because no one on the board has gotten vitals yet or an interview notification.

does anyone think that we’re set to see a bunch of rejections tomorrow? Also, are fewer ppl following bc they’ve already heard back/received vitals?

I hope SOMETHING happens tomorrow. I’m unfortunately going to have to decide on other internships very, very soon. I wish the offers on this internship matched up with everything else – it makes it close to impossible to wait for!
