White House Internship

Hey guys. I’m trying to fax in my SF86 forms and it’s just not working. The number listed is coming up with a “busy/no response” signal. I’m wondering for those who’ve turned this in - have you had this problem? Do you have any advice for how to get this to their office? Thank you. (I hate fax machines).

What office is that for? I had to turn mine in a month ago and it was all online. We were told to attach the FBI Consent form at the end of the e-quip application. (It took forevvvver).

I got my Departmental Review forms a little over a month ago but I didn’t have the sf-86 forms with it. I just got an applicant information form, drug testing consent form and a telecommunications/info systems user agreement form. Does everyone get the SF-86?

Also did anyone hear back yet?

Thanks!

I just saw that the OPM recently switched to hard copies of the e-qip questionnaire due to last year’s data breach. So that explains why you had to fax it. I’m guessing the switch may mean a later final answer about internships too…

This is T O R T U R E !

From what I gathered from the previous posts for the Fall deadline, people heard decisions around the end July till the first week of August…

I think this Friday will be the day—last year the results for the Fall internship came out on July 18th.

I called as well and though their answer was noncommittal, it seemed like we might be hearing something around Friday before 6:00

Is filling out the SF86 form mandatory to be admitted into the program?

What if we have not received the SF86 form? It was posted earlier that it is usually for certain departments but it makes me nervous that I didn’t get them.

Hopefully we hear soon!

@hamburger5 I would assume so since we are working within the EOP.

@ERNENR1 so you are saying if you haven’t gotten an SF86 then probability of getting a spot is unlikely? I’m not to familiar with this whole process.

Still stay positive! I think we have to remember that some people are not going to pass the SF-86.

When the first wave of decisions come back—some people who have yet to be asked for an SF-86 will be. As people get passed on for security reasons others (it seems) are then asked to then give theirs (since, I can only imagine that these things are expensive and resources to do them are finite—leading them to try to do only as much as they need).

@ERNENR1 I think taking a few minutes to review the past few years of this thread might do you some good in understanding that there have been people selected up on till the first week after the internship. There is still hope yet.

And even after that there is a waitlist: people who have been tentatively Ok’ed by the department, past the security check, but are kept on reserve if an intern should be unable, for any reason, to complete their duty/fall short in their responsibilities to the office.

Though we can’t wait forever, this is a life-changing accolade. I am on pins and needle as well but all when can do is hope for the best and continue to plan for both eventualities—getting or not getting the position.

@Osmo1994
@Supererogation

I apologize for the misunderstanding. I am not saying that those who do not receive the sf-86 up at this point are out of the running… What I was trying to respond from @hamburger5 post of, “Is filling out the SF86 form mandatory to be admitted into the program?” I meant to say that the sf-86 is a necessary form to fill out as part of the application process. There would absolutely be no way the EOP would just accept someone without filling an sf-86. Sure some people have not received it yet since all departments conduct the application processes different according to the older posts, but the sf-86 is still required regardless. So don’t give up! :)>-

Anyone hear anything?

What is the minimum age for White House internship ? Can high school,students apply ?

still have not heard anything! i want to know…someone said because of the data breach it is going to be taking a lot longer …i hope that is not true

I was accepted on Friday night! Stay positive

Congratulations !

Hey Seae24— congratulations!!

@seae24 Would you mind letting us know what department it was with (initials)? So we can know if our departments are starting to notify— that would be sooo helpful as the notifications roll in
