H and I got the Pfizer yesterday afternoon. Minimal side effects in the middle of the night. 24 hours later- close to normal. H is going to a high school reunion and family get together in 3.5 weeks in a classically not very vaccinated state. Hope it works.
Iāve felt horrible with all my Covid vaccines, all Moderna. Fever, body aches, headache and swollen armpit on the shot side. Getting ready for my next booster at the end of this month in prep for a large indoor wedding next month.
Had Pfizer booster on Monday. Slightly arm pain and body aches, but so much easier than initial covid vaccines.
How long was your armpit swollen, do you remember? Mine has definitely improved, but I donāt think itās quite normal yet. I had my shot last Thursday afternoon. My body aches are gone, but I donāt feel amazing. Of course, ragweed is also peaking. I never feel amazing this time of year. Itās hard to separate the two and wonder if thatās contributing to a worse reaction than I remember.
I got the Moderna COVID shot yesterday. Just walked in to the CVS located in our target store, and got the shot. I do have a sore arm but thatās it.
We are going away next week, and then again in October.
It took about 2 weeks +/- to resolve completely, definitely less swollen after about 10 days. My other symptoms resolved in about 36-48 hours.
That helps my psyche a lot, especially since weāre heading to Europe next week. Thanks!
Hope you have a fantastic time in Europe!
I guess I am putting my recent booster and kn95 to the test. I just found out I was exposed at work yesterday. Iām a little ticked. His daughter was sick over the weekend and he still came in to the office. Our boss definitely would have let him work remotely.
Ours will cover if we go to the minute clinic, but not the pharmacy.
Moderna has a bigger dose of mRNA than Pfizer, so maybe more effects (but maybe more effectiveness).
Novavax appears to have less unwanted reactions than Moderna of Pfizer.
Okā¦I had my COVID shot on Tuesday afternoon and felt fine. But Wednesday, I was OK all day but then just was exhausted at 8:00ā¦and had a low fever. So I went to bed very earlyā¦and this morning I feel fine.
Modernaā¦at CVS in Target, and my insurance covered it.
All my vaccines to date have been Moderna. Iāve had the typical side effects - sore arm, tiredness - but they have always been mild and easily withstood. I plan on getting the updated shot in the next week or so and am thinking about switching to Pfizer. I really have no reason to switch but thought maybe itās time to mix it up.
Assuming they are both readily available, are there any reasons I should or shouldnāt switch?
Iāve had seven COVID shotsā¦all Moderna. Itās what the pharmacy had.
D1 had her flu and covid shots last week. She is 38 weeks pregnant. She is hoping sheāll be able to pass on some immunities to the baby. She also wants her 3.75 yr old daughter a covid and RSV shots soon.
I am going to get my shots in 2 weeks before a big wedding and an Asia trip.
any thoughts on novavax that was just approved?
I am 5ā2" and have a smaller face, these youth sized KN95 masks work great for me, and my college kid uses the adult size if he masks up (just when traveling these days).
I donāt wear a mask to the grocery store, but I had several medical appointments this summer all in a hospital and so I always wore a mask there. If I were flying anywhere now Iād mask up once I got to the airport.
My personal calculus at the moment is that Iāll wait until early November so that itās most potent for the holidays.
I probably would have done same, if not for our upcoming trip to London.
Looks like it has a lower rate of typical unwanted effects (of the general not feeling well type) than Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. Some people prefer it for that reason.
