Me too! We’ll probably be seeing each other then. Isn’t that weird to think about? (haha) So you’re going to stay in South? I haven’t filled out my dorm request form yet, but I really like South and Kamine (the new dorms). I’m not sure which one I’m going to put, but I stayed in South on my visit and I really liked it so I may put South as my first choice. Wow, you’ve visited 4 times! I wish I could. I can’t go to the accepted students day on the 23rd because I have prom that day. I’ll go to the thing in june though.

Did you look at a bunch of schools on the east coast?

I def want south bc of location, size, quality of the rooms etc… (it has the rep of the party dorm but idk if thats a good or bad thing)- I talked to someone else who was interested in Kamine bc of the all freshman thing, but I liked the large number of ppl in south.

Too bad you cant make it in April (thats so early for prom isnt it?), what thing in June are you talking about?

The thing in june (7th-10th) is to meet your advisors and make your schedule and stuff. It talks about it in the letter you got saying that your deposit has been recieved (lol). I think I’m going to put South too. I really liked it when I stayed there. I need to send in the form fast so that I get my first choice.

I know…it is pretty early to have prom. We start school really early here (in Aug) so we get out in early June. That’s probably why.

So, what do you plan on majoring in? I noticed from your facebook that you’re in a lot of physics and math classes. I was going to be in Ap Euro too, but i took ap art history instead.

Hi!
I visited Lafayette twice, but it was the second time that really made up my mind. I wanted to try something different from California, and Lafayette seemed like a really great place. I applied to mostly west coast schools though. I’m a bit nervous to be going east, things are different out there!
My dad actually found Lafayette first, and then I started getting mailings from them (I assume he put my name on some list).
I asked to be placed in Ruef next year, it was one of the dorms I saw when I visited, and it seemed nice.
No sports for me! I find volleyball especially awful…I could never serve. My P.E. teacher despaired of me! I play music (viola), and I plan to join the orchestra at Lafayette. I also do drama at school, which would also be nice to continue. I’m going to be an International Affairs major.
I can’t make it to the accepted student day in April either…it’s just too far to go for one day. And I’m going to be going back and forth all summer.

Hi Luckymel. How did you arrange for the volleyball recruiting trip when you were applying to Lafayette? Had you sent a tape to the coach?

Current students…How do you find the social atmosphere and academics? What kind of Stats did you have to get in?

Hi Bridie! I first sent out a resume/bio with my academic and athletic accomplishments to coaches of schools I was interested in going to. Then, I sent a video of a skills session and game footage from my club season to the coaches that asked for one when they responded back to me. Eventually, I narrowed it down to about 3 or 4 schools, which included Lafayette and Brandeis University (my top 2 choices). Both coaches invited me for a visit in which I met the team, stayed with a player, and toured the school. After visiting Lafayette, I really loved it and decided that it’s where I wanted to go and I applied early decision. I was accepted and now I’m going there yay! (well obviously).

If you would like to see the bio that I sent to coaches, email me at luckymel18@mindspring.com and I will send it to you.

Good luck!

melissa :)

Hey- I’m Alissa from NY- I think we have been in the same Laf chat room before. I find it kinda funny how uninterested in next years dorm assignments you are, but that just must mean you are really chill.

eh, i figured that there are more important things to worry about, like the engineering curriculum… now what’s this thing in april?

Its the accepted students day…you wander around look at campus, meet people, learn more about next year, and if you want to you can take classes the following day (but you cant stay on campus you have to book a hotel)-at
