so that we can get to know each other :))

How did you pick Lafayette out of all the US colleges?

Hey! My name is Melissa and I’ve also been accepted ED to Lafayette class of 2010. I live near Dallas,TX and I’m extremely excited about next year too! Just thought I’d say hi because I thought this site was really cool. :)

Hi!
I’m also part of the lafayette class of 2010. My name’s Clara, I’m from San Jose, California. Wow, Bulgaria, I thought I was coming from far away!

allisaivers, I picked Lafayette because of a number of reasons. However, I had a really hard time picking a school- there are so many of them! But now I’m very happy I chose Lafayette and I am looking forward to going there in the fall.
Hi to Melissa and Clara!
Oh I have a question- has somebody of you people visited Laf? If so, please share your impressions thank’s!

I have been to lafayette 4 time so far, and I plan on going again next month and then to the accepted students day on the 23rd of April. The campus is just beautiful, its the class campus that has a great big quad that is surrounded by the farion student center, the library, classrooms and dorms. You will love it when you arrive in august.

For Melissa and Clara, how did you find lafayette?

Thank you, Alissa! I’m sure it’s very beautiful there. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to visit on April, 23 as I am too far away…but after all, August is coming soon And btw how did you decide on Lafayette?

I decided on Lafayette for many reasons. I looked at over twenty schools and Lafayette was my favorite by far. Each time I returned to Lafayette I learned something about the school that really made me love it. I liked how everyone lives on campus and stays there on the weekends, how it is a very athletic student community, how you can fulfill the basic graduation requirements with fun classes, etc… I also felt that the students I saw on campus were a lot like me. I also have friends who have brothers who go there a love it, as well as my moms close friend who is alumni and also promoted the school to me.

Have you already filled out your dorm form for next year?

~alissa

melissa I noticed you put volleyball as one of your interests down…are you going to play at lafayette?

No, I still haven’t filled the dorm form cause I’m not quite sure about the Building Request thing… I just don’t know which dorm to pick. And how about you, which one are u going to choose?

I picked “south college” because when I visited it had the nicest biggest rooms and about half of the students in it are freshmen. Of course the dorm we pick isnt def. the dorm we get so Im not getting my hopes up. On the lafayette website there is a description of each dorm if you would like, and “candyman” also have a nice write up on each one in one of these posts which were handy to read.

Yes…I am playing volleyball at Lafayette and I’m so excited! To answer your question about why I decided to go to Lafayette…hmm .I really loved that I could play DI volleyball at a great academic school thats just the right size for me (small but not too small). Everyone I met at the school was so nice and friendly, and I really liked the tight-knit feel of the campus, and that everyone on campus seemed to be involved in something. Its also so beautiful and has that old/traditional feel to it. Its just how Ive always imagined college to be, and I just fell in love with it. Ive always wanted to go to a school in the northeast and I really want to have a new experience and meet new people. I bet you’re all going there for the same reasons as I am though, so this probably doesnt sound new to you…haha. I visited the school once during my volleyball recruiting trip in October (on Halloween weekend) and had so much fun. What does everyone else think of the school and is anyone else involved in any sports or other activities?

I’m really excited to see that other people from far away are going too. I guess I won’t be the only one now. (haha) Wow…Bulgaria! I bet you’re a little nervous to come from that far away. I can’t imagine going to school in a foreign country, especially my freshman year. You must be really bright. What made you you decide to come this far to go to school and of all the schools why did you choose Lafayette (even though someone already asked you that question)?

I plan on getting involved in anything I possibly can, but in terms of athletics I just plan to play club and intermural volleyball, maybe crew or softball, but volleyball is my favorite thing by far.
