<p>Depends on the hw. Never jazz because I do like snoopy and try to dissect it and ****. Some loud rock or tv for calc hw to keep me awake, and same for boring busywork. English papers/reading I must have complete silence. Even though English is my element and all and requires the least concentration…:P. Maybe that’s why my math grades are bad. Hm.</p>

<p>Math/Science homework I listen to music. English/Social Studies no music, I couldn’t concentrate.</p>
<p>I either listen to bob marley or play soccer while making homework… I like to multi task =D</p>
<p>Only if it’s rote, monotonous stuff. Like running an algorithm 10 times and finding the average of the data! Or doing some sort of BS physics lab. But I can’t listen to music while reading/doing stuff that requires analysis, or my concentration gets sabotaged.</p>
<p>Then again, I’m more likely to actually keep studying if I listen to music, so I tend to strike a balance between effectivity and motivation.</p>
<p>Oh yeah, rap always sabotages my concentration no matter what (because you start listening to the lyrics).</p>
<p>I always listen to music when I do hw. It calms me down. I just search a song on youtube, play it, then minimize the screen and listen to it while I do my hw.</p>

<p>i can’t while writing papers or doing spanish homework, because those require as much brain power as possible.
anything else though…i have a hw playlist of ambient chill music (iron&wine anyone?) and classical (i just got some new beethoven. yes.)</p>
<p>I can;t listen to anything or I get distracted and can’t concentrate. I can’t wtahc tv or hear anyone talking either; my teacher told me it’s because I’m an introvert lol.</p>
<p>I can listen to music when I do Math or Chem. Maybe because those involve number rather than words… and a different part of your brain is activated when you listen to music than when you deal with numbers? (That’s what I like to call the Envi Sci BS answer. I make up scientific facts on every single one of my Envi Sci tests, and my teacher always accepts this =D)</p>
<p>English + music = not a good idea. I start getting confused… and sometimes I start typing the lyrics to songs. But I usually do it anyway. Heh.</p>
