Who the heck goes to Bob Jones University?

Student rules

General Rules

*Freshman and sophomore residence hall students must sign out before leaving campus; students with junior and senior privileges may leave without signing out between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m… Curfew is at 10:25 p.m., and residence hall students must be in their own rooms and quiet at 11 p.m. Lights must be out by midnight.

*Each student is provided with a filtered e-mail account. Using unfiltered Internet access via computer, mobile phone, or satellite phone is prohibited for residence hall students. The university provides content-filtered Internet access for student use that blocks pornography, “lurid violence,” racial hate, and other “objectionable content.” i *

*DVD/VCRs are not allowed in residence halls; DVD players on computers cannot be used for watching films. Televisions may be used only as monitors to play video games. i *

Students are forbidden to attend movie theaters or, when visiting local homes, to watch any films with ** a rating higher than a G rating.* Residence hall students are not permitted to play, use, or own video games that are rated T, M, or Ao or that include profanity, sensual or suggestive dress, rock music, graphic violence, or demonic themes. i *

Students may not listen to country, jazz, New Age, rock, rap, or contemporary Christian music. i

*Residence hall students are permitted to work off-campus only until 10:25 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends, and students may not solicit door-to-door without a retail license or permission from the dean of students.

The University will not allow anything displaying the logos of Abercrombie & Fitch or its subsidiary Hollister to be “worn, carried, or displayed” on campus even if the logos are covered because these companies have “shown an unusual degree of antagonism to the name of Christ and an unusual display of wickedness in their promotions.” i

Let’s not even get into Dress Codes.

I’m surprised that people even apply to this school.

The uber religious and children of uber religious parents who won’t pay for any other school go to places like that.

its sick, again soemthing else that should be outlawed, I understand that this is a free country but the people who go to this school seem like prisioners, I think prisioners have more rights.

Well, Chris Sligh from American Idol went there…and got kicked out.

Who knows?

Wow, I’m glad we haven’t seen this a hundred times before. Thanks for bringing it up again. My IB English teacher graduated from there. She was perfectly normal (undoubtedly an exception).

Feel free to make fun of Pensacola and optical intercourse, though. It makes BJU look like Hampshire.

O.o @ Pensacola…

Sounds more like a “camp” than a college.

Pensacola gets cool points for “making eye babies,” though. This is definitely a phrase I’ll be using in the near future :D

making eye babies hahah i don’t even think the puritans were this bad

lol how do they compare to BYU?

Can’t wear A&F or Hollister??? I’d be pretty screwed if I went there. Oh, wait, I wouldn’t because I definately got my fill of religious school in my k-12 years. I feel bad for anyone who goes there, but if this lifestyle didn’t appeal to someone, the school couldn’t stay open.

Abercrombie is for dumb rich hoes.

“no women are permitted in the ministerial class”

found this on wikipedia

i would rather not go to college than to go to a horrible place like that

Ha, I just passed by that place a week ago when I visiting my parents in North Carolina. I saw a group of people dressed up in suits probably getting out of mass or something on a weekday.

I am not a hoe.

I was going to mention the Chris Sligh thing, but someone got to it before me. :(

And I don’t think you’re a hoe, diehldun. Pugfug is being immature.

I would visit these colleges for fun just to see how they are if I wasn’t afraid I would do something wrong and they would drag me into a basement and beat me since they can’t do anything else.

So much for liberal “tolerance”, eh guys?

i think… i would die there
