Who's applying ED to Penn?

@aangel42: re likely letters at Penn, it is my understanding that recruited athletes at Penn do not receive likely letters, unlike most (if not all) of the other Ivy League schools. However, the Penn coach who is recruiting the HS athlete would present the recruit’s transcripts/test scores to the coach’s admissions liaison and get a “read” on whether the recruit would be admitted. That process usually takes place after the junior year transcripts are available.

I’m trying to figure out why people hate him so much. I think it’d make for an interesting social observational study.

I may or may not have been to two JBiebs concerts…

Yeah lets not talk about stats. My SAT is also pretty bad and I rather not think about it.

I don’t know about you guys but after reading that results thread. I imagined the Columbia admissions committee in the form of a Power Ranger or samurai and just taking on an army of soldiers (metaphorically speaking are actually applicants) and just slashing them all in 15 minutes.

But a question I asked before and it got lost in the discussion: What will you guys miss most about this thread?

I think everyone is bitter that a young teenage boy stepped into the limelight after posting videos on Youtube, and now he’s getting all the girls and making bank.

That’s just me though. I think he’s an extremely talented singer and makes pretty good music within pop music standards.

@loadiocean: I don’t like him, but my friends love him. I’ve asked why and they go on a rant about how no one would play his music and how he had to work so hard to get his music played and all that. But I’m just like… Isn’t he under Usher? How do you get any better publicity?

haha sorry to interrupt the Justin Bieber discussion (I’m still surprised we didn’t talk about him for 170+ pages!)

More questions:

knowing that there’s a 74% chance of you-know-what tomorrow, if someone walked in your house right now and offered you $500,000 for withdrawing your Penn app right this instant, would you do it? If you don’t accept the money, anything can happen tomorrow (including the 26% chance of being accepted) - and then life goes on normally.

If you had a free plane ticket to anywhere, where would you go?

Favorite cuisine? (e.g. Mexican, Italian, Chinese, etc)

At what age do you want to get married? (assuming you do haha)

I will miss the feeling of being united with those who are as passionate about Penn as I am, if not more.

@aangel
I would not withdraw my application.
I would go to Spain in an instant.
I love Mexican.
25-26ish? I’m not sure yet. I need to step into the REAL dating scene before I can gauge that. High school relationships have been ridiculously trivial.

@angel:

waoeijfa I don’t even want to think about that haha… If you had asked me a week ago I would’ve been like OF COURSE NOT but the me right now is like… well I’m not going to get in so…

London!

Vietnamese food. omg. so good.

Maybe… 27?

Woah, just saw that Harvard is ranked top 25 in the country in mens bball. Looks like Penn has a bit of competish.

[Just something to cheer you guys up.](<a href=“Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy (Official Music Video) - YouTube”>Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy (Official Music Video) - YouTube)

Bobby McFerrin is AMAZING.

@aangel,

I would take the money. There is a different about liking the school and being freaking obsessive over it.

I would go to China or maybe Japan.

Favorite cuisine: Chinese, Mexican, American, and some Italian

Age to get married: maybe… 37 - 40.

@laodicean I know right. You can’t listen to that song without smiling. You’re welcome.

Thank you :slight_smile:
Does anyone like metal (any kind)?

Unfortunately, money can make immensely positive changes in my life, and I would probably take the $500,000.

I would probably go to Greece or New Zealand.

I am obsessed with Chinese food.

Twenty-five years old to get married!

Is anyone else considering to expand their college list?

If you’re talking about music, laodicean, there’s plenty of great hair metal and thrash from the 70s and 80s. Judas Priest is the best. If you’re not talking about music, I love silver, gold, platinum, bronze, etc.

@free2rhyme: I think I definitely will… I feel like I’m applying too high haha.

Free2rhyme…anyone commenting on this thread is probably freaking obsessed with Penn.
