Who's applying ED to Penn?

^ And with that, this thread now has 1,000 posts. ;)

45 PERCENTER, YOU ARE THE BEST. :D

And good luck, free2rhyme! I think if you love Penn, you would truly love both of those schools, they have similar Penn-esque feels and are approximately just as competitive (obviously they’re sub-Ivy, but are still fantastically challenging). Have fun with video games and enjoy college supplements.

@ sweetcookie, I was looking at need blind to internationals and fullneed schools but that list is limited to all the ivies (except cornell, brown, and columbia) and amherst. I don’t think I have any chance at HYP, so that just leaves dartmouth and Penn. Dartmouth is too far away from PA (at least according to my parents).

So that’s why I am looking at full need schools instead of both full need and need blind schools.

EDIT: when I say internationals, i am talking from the perspective of canadians. Penn and Dartmouth are need blind to Canadians, but all other schools beside the ones I listed above consider Canadians as internationals.

@free2rhyme: Cornell screwed us over by placing Canadians with the rest of the international pool. Financial aid is scarcer than ever.

Stanford has 71 pages y’all. We NEED to surpass them.

so my guidance counselor at school hangs up the acceptance letters the seniors get, and on her door is my friends penn letter (with the hurrah, hurrah!). i legitimately read that letter everyday. i do not know how i will be able to function on december 9.

@sweetcookie, yeah I know (and so did Columbia). But anyways I am thinking about taking a break from this thread until next week because I am starting to get anxious again (partly due to looking up previous years’ decision letters) and I definitely do not want to be here for the countdown.

Shout out to sweetcookie, EmPaige, sweetpuri, hardworking, Crazypluto, laodicean, and pretty much everyone else on this thread: Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and good luck.

@aligator3: Wow, that is…wow. I wish our school would do that sometimes (so I knew where people are going and could congratulate them, no matter what school), but then again, I don’t (the pressure!).

@free2rhyme: This thread wouldn’t have made it without you, either! I’m just taking deep breaths, getting everything that I need to, done, day by day, and sleeping a little more. My only wish is that we all achieve our dreams (acceptance into Penn)! And very well put.

Rest, relax, and L-I-V-E!!

@ free2rhyme

Thanks! All the best to you and hope your week goes well. Stay calm  I think I’ll stay for the countdown, but I seriously am growing more anxious each day. Thankfully, no one at my school has started a frenzy about ED decisions yet…

@free2rhyme, thanks bud :D

I will now dive and immerse myself in plenty of “why cornell” “why duke” and “why yale” essays so I can get my mind out of penn. Oh penn… how much i love you… slaps self

GL to everyone

You guys make me feel so much better and have truly made this situation significantly less stressful. I know it’s only going to get worse, but I hope that everyone starts feeling better about this whole waiting and potential rejection process. Best of luck to everyone.

:)

I just can’t bear the thought of having to wait till April to hear about RD decisions. These few months have been torturous enough. Heaven have mercy.

ohmygosh i feel the same way i dont know how i wil be able to wait 3 entire months

I love you all and hope that I will have the honor and privilege to love all of you in person in the near future :)

Yeah, can’t wait, speaking of which, I just got contacted for an interview. Excited and nervous at the same time. ahhhhhh

Can’t wait till the 9th. I’ve been going to the admissions decision site for the last 3 weeks waiting for them to update when they release decisions.

I also can’t wait for the official facebook group for Penn 2016. My friends that are going to other schools are already meeting people that they won’t see till next August. Gotta love the power of technology and the internet.

@hardworking21- Its nice but it also sucks, however my guidance counselor is awesome and it makes it a little better. But I also have randomly come across my mom’s acceptance letter which is ancient and even more pressure for me.

I think I am going to get a tub of ben and jerry’s for friday, just in case.

@acceptmealready: Same! Ice cream is da best!

Just a week left guys!

Good luck to everyone :)
