<p>so guys… the irony of all ironies for ironicallyunsure:</p>
<p>ACCEPTED and i’m visiting cornell right now. this is easily the best day of my life, seriously. my mom called me and told me and i started crying. i’m so incredibly happy, i can’t even tell you :-D</p>
<p>and since i promised to post my stats after getting in:</p>
<p>high school gpa: 83/100
SATs: didn’t send
2 APs: 5 on psych, 4 on french
college applied to: human ecology, human development major
college gpa: 3.49 with 58 units completed at 16 in progress
essays: i think really solid. wrote about teaching english in turkey, made my why transfer essay VERY cornell-specific, and wrote about saving a kid during an earthquake for the challenge essay
recs: both from cornell alumni. both taught me 200-level psych classes, and i do research with one of them.
ECs: academic judiciary board, college fellow, research assistant, unicef, and some other things that i can’t remember at the moment</p>
<p>i’m really excited, i can’t even tell you. i’m officially allowed to sing the alma mater between the 2nd and 3rd periods during hockey games and i can let myself buy cornell gear :-D</p>

<p>accmajor, I didn’t get my financial package yet, but mine will be the same from when I got in for fall (I couldn’t go <em>because</em> it wasn’t enough money, but after saving another semester at my community college, now I can go.)</p>
<p>In my original package, they gave me an $1800 work study, so I should have the same and will probably be doing that in spring.</p>
<p>Looks like Maclen and the hotellies are up next. Let’s see what mother Ithaca has in store for them. Guess we have to wait 'till Monday :(</p>
<p>So nice to know you guys are also applying… well I really doubt I got in… because after all it is still Cornell… I know they stress alot about experience have passion for the industry… but strong academics is a given (which I do not have). I also do not come from a top university such as UC Berkeley. I am so anxious and nervous about the decision because I applied to Umass Amherst for Hospitlaity as my back up and I accepted but I need to notify them soon. So I am stuck now, not knowing what to do. I really just want to know what my chances are so I can reply to Umass Amherst.
Btw I think both of you have awesome GPA’s and are most likely gonna be accepted… But best of luck u both of u!!! please keep in touch n let me know what happens…

<p>Yeah. I hate how we get our decisions so late … it’s so inconvenient! If you don’t get your decision before you Amherst deadline, what some people do is put in the deposit. It’s a HUGE waste of money … agh. You got into Amherst and it was your safety? … you must have something good then … lol</p>
<p>Yea, Ian told me that if you get into another school, put the deposit down just so you’ll have a backup plan if Cornell doesn’t work out. It does suck since it’s such a waste of money if you do get accepted.</p>
