Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

thanks guys  this has got to be hands-down one of the best things to ever happen to me and will ever happen to me. i can’t wait to see you in january :)

azu, pm me your e-mail address and i’ll send them over

Congrats ironically! Must be a great day for you! Have fun at Cornell this weekend… I’m sure you will now that you’ve heard the great news.

I was wondering if I could also read your essays? Thanks!!

I applied ED as a freshman to ILR in this cycle and I’m damn near positive I won’t get in, but after ironic sent me to this thread, I am truly feeling confident about my chances if I later choose to transfer. You guys are inspiring, and Ironic I especially identify with you. I am not a girl and certainly am not in love with anybody named “Andy” but you have a love for Cornell that I identify with. After all, i attended their summer college for 3 weeks last summer and truly, deeply fell in love with the place- it is the most beautiful place on earth. To those of you who have yet to hear back, good luck, thank you, and relax- my college counselor actually told me that transfer applicants tend to have much more success than freshman ones- after all, Cornell is looking for fit, match, and interest, and you are all willing to uproot form your current schools to be thrust into a strange environment with a class that has already formed relationships with one another- and you are doing that just to attend cornell- sounds liek fit and match to me. Good luck once again and thank you all, you have actually helped a lot.

sure stryke, pm me your e-mail address and i’ll also send them to you.

def i’m glad you find this thread inspiring  i wish you luck in the ED process, but if you end up in a fall transfer thread later on, i’m sure i’ll still be stalking and right there to help you out

by the way, i’m thinking since i’m here i could go to the humec office and ask to personally thank the admissions officers. do you think they’ll let me or do you think they’ll think i’m crazy?

CONGRATS EMINE!!! I got your bbm today!! I’m so happy for you. You have no idea!! I feel like I got accepted!! I told you were going to get accepted. There was no way in hell they would reject you!!! MILLION hugs from PR!!!  :D!!! and yes, i think is good idea if you do that lol

ahhhh thanks jemma!!! you already know i’m going to make you come visit and we’ll pretend you’re there with us :-D!!!

oh and so i’m at syracuse right now right, visiting my best friend. and last night we went to a party and she drunkenly announced to tons of people that i don’t know that i got in, and then this one kid came up to me and was like “really? i’m going to brown next fall” and i was like FOOL. CORNELL > BROWN :-D

oh and i forgot to post this with my stats: i also sent admissions 2 fortunes i got from fortune cookies that were like “hard work is always appreciated” and “good news is on it’s way to you” and then i wrote some cheesy little blurb about how i hoped that meant good news from the admissions office. do something that will make you stand out!!!

East… I was blonde, for a very short time… thank God it was brief!! haha
Emina…I have been thinking about you since I heard of your acceptance. My entire family is celebrating with you!!! xoxo

hehe send my love to the mcmahons and i’ll hopefully be meeting them during move-in!!!

O I thought I saw a pic with you with blond hair, but I may be thinking of someone else.

I swear, girls are so frustrating that its just ridiculous. I’m not talking about any of you; just stating my thoughts.

If u saw it on my FB, it was probably me!!

It may have been.

Where’s Ryan at? I needs my review :(

I’m heeeeere. Haha. Ok, so, east, that was an amazing essay. Not only is it inspiring, but you really hit the nail on the head with why you want to become a student in ILR. While the essay lacked anything about Cornell itself (which I’m sure, unlike CALS, they didn’t ask you to include in it) you definitely got the message across in a tone that’s beyond brave.

That sounded kind of cheesy as an overview of it, but it’s true, I think it definitely works for you. I could be picky about grammar, but for yours there wasn’t anything that caught my eye.

Well thank you very much for your gracious comments. I really appreciate that.

You’re right about not having any comments pertaining to Cornell. Honestly, I really didn’t want to speak about the university since I wanted the essay to answer the prompt as precisely as possible. While Cornell is an amazing school and I think about it constantly, the prestige, location and alumni of the school are impertinent to the studies of ILR (unless we’re speaking of ILR alumni, of course.) And yea, the prompt didn’t say anything about mentioning why Cornell was a great fit for you, so that was another reason to ignore the university as a whole and focus on my prospective college.

And don’t worry, you don’t sound cheesy at all. Any compliment is a much needed allotment of reassurance.

Only two weeks left now. I hope the admissions committee liked my essays :(

:3…
So I have 9 supplements to fill out. Some of them require more than 1 essay. AHH.
And Cornell, being the special school it is, gets its very own common app essay! Apparently, the Common App doesn’t let you fill it out electronically for the same application cycle, so I have to apply to Cornell all in paper. Makes me a little scared of things getting lost. But my high school guidance counselor is helping me every step of the way this time, so I think I’m going to be okay.
Right now, the only thing on my mind is being able to get a job at any veterinary hospital or animal shelter. I hate the crappy economy.

Ironic, you got a letter in the mail?

yeah, i got the big white package in the mail:) well, my mom got it as i’m up in the world of cornell. actually i’m typing this from the bathroom in a binghamton suite, so if you read this, i’ll be here until 10:30/11ish lol so let me know if you’re around.

azu, i’ll respond to your e-mail when i get some time

its odd thinking about how many fantastic colleges there are in new york. Binghamton, cornell, columbia, nyu, syracuse, colgate, stony brook, buffalo, and many more.

we’re new york, would you expect any less?

new york lovin’

I think California dominates in terms of good colleges… :)

and everything else, for that matter…
