Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

Mine also says for a whole year, Luigi, but I don’t think that’s what it means. I think maybe as spring transfers we’re permitted to stay in the same room for another semester, but yeah.

Dibs not…Lacey, don’t even think about not going. ;D

accmajor, it is just for spring, the system is pretty crappy. You guys will see what I mean when it comes time to enroll in courses, peoplesoft sucks. They only switched to it because the guy that owns peoplesoft is a cornell alum and donated a ton of money. And no, you do not have the option of staying in it another semester. Everything starts over in the fall.

Lacey, that is not good news. Rose house would be, but you got a gothic associated with rose, not the actual rose house itself. Your mailbox will be in rose and for house dinners on wednesday you will have to eat in rose, but that is about it.

mine too, but look at the start and end dates and it’s really only for spring

water, can you link me to the course site? like the website where you’re making your schedule?

I’ll have to find it again XD but yeah, lemme look.

ohh i have news for you water and accmajor:

my suite is empty besides me! mixed gender suites are allowed, so if you want and don’t mind living with me, call up housing and tell them you know that keeton 282B, 282C, 282D-1, and 282D-2 are empty and you can be on west! B and C are singles, D is a double, but the doubles are big. literally twice the size of singles.

and thanks water!

i wanted a gothic, so i guess lyons looks positive to me for that matter, but its double and i still dont have a roommate… will i get one?? or am i all alone for good right now?

ehhhhhhh…

Are mixed gender singles actually allowed?? I have never seen one. The dorms are coed, but all the sweets I have ever seen were either all male or female. Also, those rooms may or may not actually be empty. You cannot trust anything the housing site says with spring, because my friend that got put in cook last years said the same thing and in reality there were already 4 other guys in the sweet and he was only taking 1/2 the double that someone who had graduated early vacated.

Lacey, have you ever been inside a gothic?? They are crappy as hell and old. They just look pretty from the outside.

Emine, the site everyone here uses to put schedules together is schedulizer.com , just remember to check the classes you put together to see if they are still actually open on just the facts.

ok this is what they told me :
Good evening Luigi, Thank you for your inquiry regarding your spring semester housingassignment. Based on your age, we placed you on North Campus to be more inkeeping with your peers. If you prefer, we may be able to reassign you toa double in the House System next week. If do want your assignmentchanged, please email Sandy Davenport, Undergraduate Housing Coordinator,at sjd25@cornell.edu. Best wishes, Chuck for the Housing Office

mixed gender suites are allowed, but i’m sure suitemates from previous semesters wanted to stay together and blocked together during the in-house lotto or something like that. plus, i’m sure the default is to put same-sex students in a suite, but mixed gender are allowed.

and oh. well i guess we’ll find out if it’s actually empty sooner or later lol. can’t hurt to try still. and acc, definitely switch to west if you wanna be with us!

word, so when you e-mail sandy, mention the (supposedly) free space in my suite and be like yoooooooo get me on west asap :)

So I have a quick question for every transfer for has already gotten in. When you log into the self-service portal, what information is displayed? Is it still the same message that was there before you were accepted, or is there now information regarding your acceptance?

Thanks!

It says the same message, MDG. Actually, I can’t log into that anymore since I have a NetID. XD But the other page had the same message as before. It just shows my general information, then it adds some tabs on the side for accepted information.

yeah, mine still says the same thing. i don’t have the accepted information tabs though.

lalalala i’m sooooo psyched right now. i got super hyper  so happy

Just emailed Sandy Davenport with the # of the singles in your suite, Emine. The only bad thing I can see coming out of that would be possibly living with all girls, if that’s who they fill your room with XD Not that that’s BAD, but it’s kind of an odd experience for me.

Then again, Luigi just did the same thing so maybe we’ll both get there (if those rooms truly aren’t taken!)

Fingers crossed…they said they might be able to swap me to a double in a gothic next week if i definitely don’t want schuyler, but…those silverfish have me a little freaked lol. I don’t scare easily, but I DESPISE most bugs.

Wateradept, are you completely opposed to living in an apartment for significantly less $? It is literally across the street from alice cook house and the whole west campus housing system, and my 3 roommates are all very normal guys (they are friends of mine prior to this semester and I am very picky with whom I live with). If you desire a meal plan all my roommates currently have one (I am the only one that fully utilizes our kitchen), and all eat together, and the walk to the west campus dining halls is literally as short as it is from most of the gothics (depending on the specific dining hall of course). You would have your own room also instead of a double and the gothics are notorious for having to share the bathroom with a lot of people aside from the bug issue. Some are worse than others, but my friend in baker tower last year had to share the only male bathroom in it with 11 other guys, and it only have 1 shower that was broken when we arrived for orientation and not fixed until the semester started back lol. The apt has no bug issue whatsoever, lmk if you want anymore info.

Well I’m discussing stuff with the parentals, hermanns, but I can ask about your place, definitely. I would want a meal plan, seeing as I cannot cook to save my life currently, haha. Do you think you could PM some pictures to me?

P.S. in case you dont find someone interested, try posting something on the Spring facebook group (just check the thread here for the link, I think I posted it a dozen times lol.) Because they’re are like, 10 members on there who aren’t on here.

Hey guys! I’m in the Clara Dickson House on North Campus! It’s the MCLLU!
Luigi, why do u hate North Campus so much? What did North Campus ever do to u? lol (I heard they have better lasagne on North! haha)
