TFN, yes i have, they’re still considering my application.

viola, sorry to hear it.

TFN, yes i have, they’re still considering my application.

viola, sorry to hear it.

Wow viola! This really sucks. I was truly rooting for you. Come to think of it, even more than myself…lol. I think anybody who has tried three times and has the proper stats should get a break on the third one. I mean applying that many times definitely shows your level of interest in the program like no other.

Now I know you have a very heavy music background which prevented you from acceptance the first time around. How have you drastically improved your profile from the first time around to mitigate that past?

Also, just out of curiosity, are you able to use the same LOR’s from the previous application round? If so, is that what you did Viola?

Damn viola…I don’t blame you for being frustrated. It’s really stupid they aren’t giving improvement opportunities and telling people what they lacked in comparison, etc.

Down to TFN and yeezy, then…

i’m really sorry viola. that completely breaks my heart

Yes, I improved my app a LOT. I downplayed my music major and got heavily involved in ILR-type stuff over the summer (human resources internship, American Psychological Convention workshops on Industrial Organizational Psychology) I didn’t focus on my music at all and even included a note explaining my double major with music major (only there so I could take courses) and that while music played a major role in my life I was coming to Cornell to study Labor Relations.

I sent one extra LOR from my internship. My first three (Calc, English, Music) were pretty good, so I just wanted to update.

Viola, I am so, very sorry. I’m sending you a Big Hug ()!!
What are your future school plans? Will you stay at your current school?
Well, just remember that, we’re here for you!

Just came back in this thread to see if the other ILR applicants got decisions.

Damn, I’m really sorry to hear that, viola. I always thought you’d be the one that would have no problem of getting into ILR after figuring out all of the idiosyncrasies of the school through applying in the spring. This is going to sound very cliche, but I think ILR is losing out on some great applicants this year. I personally believe that you were a very strong candidate but they were clearly browsing over applicants through a very myopic scope this time.

I have to admit that I did lol at the fries line.

In case anyone was wondering, my semester gpa came to a 3.98. I’m a little disappointed since I wanted a 4.0, but my gpa still went up a hundredth of a point to a 3.93 (or it may even be a 3.94 if my school decides to round it up, which they will do if it’s high enough), so it’s all good, I suppose. I could’ve had the 4.0 if it weren’t for an A- in my History 3710 class. Luckily, an A+ in one of my econ classes was enough to mitigate the effect of that A-. Had the 3710 class been a 3 credit class, the A+ would’ve brought me up to a 4.0, but since it was worth 4 credits, it didn’t bring me up as much.

O well. I’ve made the president’s list twice, but I guess its not too bad if I missed it this year. A fourth semester on the dean’s list is cool.

yay good job east! i think i may not get my 4.0 this semester either. i’m doing pretty well, but this linguistics class is going to kill me

sorry to hear that Viola. I was also sure you were going to get in

Congrats, East!!

Nice job, east. My GPA doesn’t compare, really…I still don’t know what it is/what it might be, yet. Btw you’re lucky you have A+ as a grade, up here there isn’t such a thing, an A is anything above 92-94% (depending on the class) and that’s the highest. So A = 4.0 and A- = 3.7. I know it’s like that at my community college and Cornell, because I checked with an official on that.

Psych: A-
Organiz-Behavior: probably a B+
Com Law: A
Chem I: could be anything from an A to a C+, depends on what I get on my final. But while it could be a C+, it won’t be lol, mostly likely I’ll get a B+. I’m starting to study extreme for it, just getting rid of all my online homework in OB first.

yeezy/TFN, any news?

My college doesn’t give A+ or A-, just A’s!!!
They don’t even give any minuses (-) or ++'s.
I had a 104 avg in calculus 2 and would like to have gotten an A+. On the other hand, I had a 92 in Bio 1 and got the A, so, it all works out in the end.
I am getting soooo excited!!! :)

I can’t believe in almost one month we’ll be there, I’m pumped!

33 days to be exact (i’m a huge cornell loser. whatever, you know that already )

when are you guys coming up? i know official move in isn’t until the 19, but residence halls open the 18. i’m gonna be up there the 15 and spend a few nights at one of the frat houses because i’m going to the away hockey games with andy and the infamous cowbell guy and probably some others.

so now it looks like i’ll be there this spring. i’m pretty excited.

Nice dude! I’d definitely look into that apartment Evan might be still poking you about, haha. It’s a great place, but the only reason i didnt take it was because i wanted to be in a dorm for the first time (im from a CC).

Haha he’s mentioned it a few times. I like the dorm thing but I don’t want to share a room with anyone (bad, bad experience). I guess I’m going to rush to. Not totally sure how that’ll work.

No news yet. Is it really Yeezy and I left?

i’m still waiting. TFN why don’t you just call?

Until some other transfer pops their head out, yes it’s just you guys, heh.
