Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

Thanks guys.

The A+ is a relatively new addition to my school’s system. It was just implemented in the spring and the grade is highly arbitrary. For instance, although the history department sets the cut-off mark for an A+ at a 97, my anthropology professor would only award the grade to students who made an average which was over 100, meaning that you had to get a perfect grade on all of the tests, and get the 2 bonus questions right as well. I think I was the only one who got an A+ in that class. Most professors don’t even use the A+ in their classes, for whatever reason. Strangely enough, the biology department doesn’t even use the +/- system, which worked out perfectly for me since my 93 was counted as an A instead of an A- in microbiology last year.

bj, the apartment’s pretty nice and you’ll have housemates but the room is to yourself and there’s a big bed, woohoo.

good luck yeezy and tfn!

andy bought me a cornell scarf so i’m being a huge tool sitting in his dorm room wearing it with my pajamas. supsupsup. i want a human ecology shirt. they had every single school except mine both the cornell store and the places i went in ctown. ridiccccccccc. i hope they have some now because i’d love one hehe :)

I can’t bring myself to look on Cornell’s website, but are letters of recommendation required with the transfer app (for CALS specifically)?
The prof I asked said yes before but is going on leave much earlier then I thought, and said she can no longer write it. I feel that it’s too late notice to ask another prof considering my classes and finals have both ended already and I’d have to ask them through email, which is never good.
Am I screwed?

Well its official - Rejected. Got the letter today. I got to let this burn.

I’m sorry to hear that but don’t feel bad, dude. I finally got my letter today (took long enough.) It basically said what Ian told me, so since the rejection letters are pretty personalized from what I’ve seen, I guess they really did reject a lot of superb applicants due to lack of spaces.

just wondering…
when did you ILR guys apply? (east89, TFN) ?

Gah, sorry TFN…I guess the waiting only makes it more bearable, since you pretty much just want the decision already…I’m sure yeezy will hear today, tomorow, or Saturday too, considering they wouldn’t be there next week. Otherwise, that’d be some X-mas present…

Oh yeah, nansungmo, kinda forgot about you, did you apply to ILR for spring?

Well I submitted my app around 11 PM on September 30th. If you’ve applied, you can just call them and they should be able to give you your decision.

What meal plan are you getting, ppl? I read that 300 big red bucks are a lot, so im wondering if it’d be ok to get the traditional house plan (400 brb) or the 300 brb plan

purplenurple, you should just e-mail another prof you’re close with and ask if you can meet with them over winter break to ask in person if they can write you a letter. if that’s not possible, just explain what happened in an e-mail as an apology for the late request. also, it doesn’t need to be a prof. you can ask a TA if they know you better.

sorry tfn. i was rooting for you.

acc, i got the one with 400 BRBs but that’s because i know i’ll want to go to noyes and the hot truck or that place that’s open late (i forget what it’s called) in bethe cause i get hungry late at night if i’m awake, which i usually am. also, after the dining halls close, if you’re thirsty, you have to get drinks from vending machines which deduct from your BRBs so it really just depends on you and how thirsty/hungry you get when the dining hall is closed or whatever. you can always add more BRBs to your plan though, so if you want to start with 300 that’s cool too, cause then you can see how much you’re using and then decide whether or not to add more. i have yet to decide if i want city bucks or not though.

long time no see guys. i was keeping myself busy. well turned out i got into my second pick and the rest. so im happy. sooo…yeah…i guess i wasnt meant to be with Cornell or something. haha.

sorry east and lots of others who got rejected. its not the end of the world.

merry christmas!!

Congrats val and don’t worry, I’m not concerned about my rejection. Where else did you get in?

Thanks guys! I have decided to give it one more shot. So I will see you other spring rejects applying for the fall in the fall thread…lol

congrats val!

and tfn, if you want help redoing essays or anything, PM me  i think you learn a lot between the first and second time applying

Hey guys, I’m super sorry about the rejections… If I can help anybody out, just let me know… In other news, my bfs band just released their music video, and I’m the main girl  cause my bfs the singer… It’d be weird if there was a different girl playing the love interest :P

omg, yeezy is the last person :frowning: Please Please, we must keep this thread ALIVE!!

congrats yeezy! and yay valv!

and yes we need to keep this thread alive, or at least migrate to the fbook group lol

ps lacey you look pretty as always

I’m up for migrating, except I don’t mind whichever since I’m on CC occasionally to answer questions and…yeah. How exactly did I get hooked to such a basic forum?..

Congrats yeezy, I think you joined the FB group? (that is, if you go to Rochester you did, heh)

apparently there are a bunch of transfers coming in from ithaca college next semester. i drove home with andy and 2 of my friends, and one goes to IC and she told me a few of her friends are transferring to cornflakes with us. i’ll have her give them the link to the FB group. i was really surprised when the e-mail i got from the orientation lady said that there are 100+ new students coming O_o
