Well, self-service is back up, not that it matters >_>.
As for New York students who are attending colleges with transfer agreements, it looks like it. I’m a NY resident. Poop.
Black Friday has excellent deals on the Xbox Elite (plus free games with it). It’s like…$100 more than what I got my non-Elite Xbox for, which makes me angry lol.

I remember Az is a girl…but you play video game? I’m sorry but I have this stereotypical mind that girls don’t play video game. My sister never did and she always told me I was a nerd whenever I turned on my PS2. (I didn’t even play video game so much. Probably a few hours a week at most. Now…no time for video game and I have lost interest in it quite a bit. I only enjoy with my friends like Mario Party, Smashbro, and stuff like that. I like Wii over anything else)
Well, it’s funny that I have many consoles, to name the list Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Wii, PS, PS2, Sega (don’t what it’s called), DS…but our family never really play. My dad buys for us to play, but I don’t know…I guess we suck lol

well i’m also from NY and haven’t heard anything. i don’t really think they have any sort of system of which applications they read first. i think they kind of just have a pile and go through them as they see them and then if they see it’s a GT or whatever, it just makes it quicker and easier.

i regret going to school yesterday. i was getting better and now i feel gross again
now i’m considering leaving my house friday instead of thursday to give myself an extra day to get better. boo. that makes me saddddd. oh well i guess it’s just binghamton i’ll be missing haha :-P

the only videogames i play are on nintendo 64 and occasionally gamecube. mario party, mario kart, and smash bros.

also has anyone’s self-service thing changed? mine is back to the “your materials have been forwarded for review” message, but it doesn’t say what jemma said she saw about how we won’t be getting decisions online.

@Ironically:

Yeah, the status page changed for everyone I believe.

The bit about not receiving decisions online is in a different part of the website. You have to click on “Welcome” then “Update for Cornell Applicants” and it will be there.

Yes, I’m a girl, lol. I originally attended RISD with the intention of going into video game design. Companies like Microsoft games and Blizzard come here and scoop us up a lot. I have a Wii, an Xbox Pro I think, a PS2, and I want a PS3 in the future. I also have a gaming laptop and plan to build my own gaming desktop soon… I’ve played a ton of games, Halo 3, Fable 2, Kingdom Hearts 1&2, the Final Fantasies, We <3 Katamari, Bioshock, Counterstrike, Starcraft, L4D 1&2, Portal, World of Goo, Team Fortress 2, The Sims, and lots more…

You’re lucky your dad buys you this stuff, my mom is strongly against video games and technology and starts nagging at me the moment she sees me playing and says that I ought to do something with my life. -_-.

uh there was a period of time where i did nothing but play the sims 2 for days and days and days. i didn’t know we were counting that lol because otherwise that’s definitely my weakness. i haven’t played since like july though… maybe that’s what i’ll do today instead of being productive. omg. world of goo. i loved to watch andy play that. i always mess up and then he laughs at me and tries to explain the physics involved and my head turns to mush and i just give up and watch him. i actually kind of love watching people play one player games, especially super mario for someone reason.

oh man azuuu, if we both end up at cornell, can you teach me how to build a computer? andy does that all the time and if i made one for him and i was like surprise! i think he would have a heart attack
also teach me how to say cute stuff in chinese so i can say them to him lol

I haven’t been keeping up with this thread, but is anyone having difficulty logging into their self-service? I’ve even gotten a second activation and I still can’t log in.

chad, are you another reapplicant? your username looks familiar…

anyway, you know we’re going to ask: what school/major and what are your stats?

i think for the most part everyone here hasn’t had trouble getting into their self-service, so maybe you should call the helpdesk. they aren’t posting decisions online, so it’s really a useless site for us anyway.

I’m a deferred applicant from Fall 2009. I’ll be attending Cornell next semester in the ILR program. I’ve posted on here a few times.

I e-mailed help desk but their suggestions were pretty useless, lol. I guess I’ll have to call them. Have you guys received financial aid status updates online?

ironic, in fact, I used to work for Dell. So let me know if you have any question about computers…configuring and which graphic card goes what and stuff like that

well…i hope i could tell you at cornell thou…not on here (meaning we will both get in!!)

Another ILR deferree. Chad, can you post your stats at the time of applying, please?

Edit: never mind. I just looked through your old posts. Would you care to read my ILR essay and give me your opinion? Assuming that you’ll be back soon, of course.

3.6 GPA from a flagship state school. I didn’t send in my standardized test scores and my high school record was pretty awful, but I think I wrote strong essays and interviewed well.

EDIT: Yeah, sure. I’ll be glad to read your essay :)

haha ok thanks valv, i hope we can make that happen!

and ILR deferred a lot of people didn’t they? they’re notorious for giving out a ton of GTs to freshman too.

chad, want to read mine also? i didn’t apply to ILR, but as an accepted applicant, i would value your opinion

ironicallyunsure, I’m also willing to look over your essay. Just PM it over to me.
Does anyone know why ILR deferred so many people and by how much versus those who were accepted and those who were outright rejected? I wonder what their strategy is in all of this.

i think GTs are the kids they really want but don’t have room for right away. humec said the freshmen they give GTs have a strong match for the college but need some more time to strengthen their experiences in the field or whatever. ILR is also a tiny school, so for them room is probably an issue. the dean said something about it at the welcome event i attended back in the spring/summer.

No decisions?
I want my CALS buddies innnnn (as well as everyone else, but right now it looks like Az and valv should hear soonest)

I forget which of the people who got in already said they got their housing right away. Mine didn’t work yet, heh. (unless said person sent the deposit beforehand)

No decisions. T_T I want in too, perhaps tomorrow will be the day, lol.

Good news is that since the week is winding down until vacation, there’s not much homework to do =D.

ironic, my boyfriend, his best friend/my very good friend, and I are all huge techies. In order of increasing tech-savvy-ness I’d say me, my boyfriend, our friend. This is my first time building a desktop, though I’ve watched the other two do it multiple times; I’m excited! So when I get the process down I’d love to help. The good news is that my artistic skills allow me to case-mod, which tends to increase the resale price if it’s done well.

hey guys, i’m an international applicant to ILR, have people found out yet? congrats to people who have been accepted.

I just want to say my roommate sucks and that I will be very glad to leave RISD for at the very least this one reason.

That is all.

has anyone gotten Financial aid yet? because i havent and im getting worried because it reallllly is gonna play a part in if i can go or not.

and second, i emailed the help desk as far as housing was concerned saying i forgot to request West Campus for housing (once you submit, you cant change it) and the lady emailed me back 10 mins later saying she adjusted it for me

ftw.
