Who's watching the Tony Awards?

So excited for the Tony awards tonight. I’m starting this thread in the hopes that I won’t have to bow out for three hours due to the fact that they are tape-delaying the show for those of us on the West Coast. I’m currently live-streaming the red carpet & hope I can find a way to live stream the actual show. Any other broadway fans out there?

H just said 60 Minutes is doing another story on Hamilton tonight, for anyone who might want to record that if you’re watching the red carpet.

We’ll be tuned in here in Florida B-)

I’m watching! But also on the West Coast, so will be getting off the internet at 8 pm eastern time.

I’ll be watching in Northern Virginia.

Will DVR the Tonys as husband hates awards shows. Feel sad for the nominees given the pall that the Orlando shootings have cast over the day.

Hooray - glad to have some fellow fans. Here’s the site where you can live stream the red carpet if you’re interested.

And here’s a site i’m going to try to use to live-stream. Not super optimistic, but worth a try!

No luck on the live stream - it won’t work from inside the US. Sigh, I’ll be back in 3 hours - carry on!

Have never missed the Tonys. The best awards show on tv, by far. Will be switching back and forth with the hockey game, while DVRing the Tonys so I don’t miss anything. One of my Ds and many friends are there tonight, some as nominees. Fingers crossed for all of them.

There are awards named after Tony Dow? Cool.

James Corden is off to a great start!

I agree, @2VU0609 - that opening was a home run. Loved the number from “School of Rock,” too.

I left a party a little early, to be home for the Tonys. My. Lose friends left with me,Ma’ams objective.

I doubt I’ll ever get to see these shows, so at least the Tonys give me a glimpse.

I missed the first 20 minutes, but am watching now. Hamilton is cleaning up…as expected. I like the fact they are performing for the public outside the theatre.

Though I live in NY, I rarely see Broadway shows…just too expensive. (I did see The Curious Incident, etc. from the half-price booth and An American In Paris via digital lottery this year.) But I’ve been going as “paper” to a lot of off-Broadway. It’s amazing how many really good off-and off-off Broadway shows there are.

Lin Manuel Miranda’s acceptance speech for best score was awesome - a sonnet!!

^^^ How’s he going to follow up after that with other awards tonight???

I almost feel sorry for the people who worked on musicals other than Hamilton.

Almost because I saw Hamilton a month ago and it really is just so brilliant.

I’m watching! Very happy that Sheldon Harnick is getting a lifetime achievement award. I adore his work. Am watching the Fiddler on the Roof scene right now.

Damn, these people know how to give a great acceptance speech.
