<p>I just received the U.Va. Admissions Newsletter - April 2011 in which the admissions team “hopes to see many of you on Grounds in the upcoming months!”</p>
<p>The problem is that I’ve already been denied.</p>
<p>Why does U.Va. admissions continue to torment us with communications we no longer want to hear? Incredibly rude, I say.</p>
<p>You have to click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the page (I’m assuming). This happened to my S too after he was denied at UNC Chapel Hill --no fun. Sorry, it makes me sad for you, but they have no way of easily taking you off their email list. You have to do it yourself unfortunately :(.</p>
<p>I checked with the marketing folks and they told me that the email was sent to students who are listed in our system as being in 9th-11th grade and those in 12th who were admitted.</p>
<p>Perhaps a different grad year was supplied when you signed up for the mailing list, so your prospect record never met up with the applicant record. We did not intent on any student on the deny or waiting lists to get the newsletter.</p>
<p>I still receive the UNC Newsletter after being rejected in January. But, WHO CARES!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!</p>
<p>I was also denied admission and got the same newsletter :(</p>
<p>This is actually very strange because I’ve been admitted but have not received any emails. Not quite sure what the deal is :o</p>
<p>Same thing has happened to me after getting denied. I’m pretty bitter about it to be honest. With technology these days it shouldn’t be hard to immediately taking rejected students off the mailing list.</p>
<p>Some students put themselves on the mailing list (or are put on it by someone else) using one email address and applying using a “more important” one. It can be hard to scrub the lists.</p>
<p>Again, no one aimed to “torment” a student with the email newsletter. I’m very sorry.</p>
