<p>I can assure you that, at least at my school, the selections are totally random apart from the adding a few kids from other races. They don’t make sugestions on what to wear and sometimes they even take some photos that are unstaged!
it’s all about getting a good picture for the photographer not about if you look good or not</p>

they just hire a photographer to take pictures of everyday life…
i know this because i was in a couple… and i didnt really realize it…haha</p>
<p>For my old school they picked the kids ahead of time…usually the kids who are in a ton of ECs and clubs at the school. I ended up in the viewbook last year and they pictured me sitting under a tree reading (so cliche) and then put a bit of a blurb about me next to the photo. It was semi-embarrassing.</p>
<p>My school does the same thing as hellosunshine’s, they pick the kids beforehand and they’re usually fairly active in clubs and sports, or they have a photographer ■■■■■ around campus for attractive kids looking wholesome and fun.</p>
<p>but why are they attractive?
I don’t know. Not all of them are. People have mentioned the sort of selective breeding thing.</p>
