Why do hot girls have ugly parents?

Hot girls have “ugly” parents
And hot parents don’t always produce hot kids. Sometimes they make ugly kids even.</p>

<p>ugly people will tend to make kids who are better than they are while beautiful people tend to make kids who arn’t as good looking.</p>

<p>same thing with smarts. 2 smart parents are less likely to have kids as smart as they are while 2 below average parents will make kids likely smarter than they are.</p>

This is actually genetically true. Smart parents won’t necessarily have kids that are less smart, but it’ll be more likely… same with below average parents; they’re more likely to have a smart kid.</p>

<p>I assume you’re saying that these things are aligned around a normal distribution. Is that what you are saying? But the fact is, with respect to intelligence, they are not, though they are not far off.</p>

<p>the parents you see are ugly because they’re all past their prime…look at the yearbook photo of any mom, and it will almost always look like the daughter @ that age…</p>

<p>i’m not saying that smart people only have stupid kids. obviously having 2 genius parents isn’t going to make the kids be stupid. But its more likely that children of 2 very smart people won’t be as smart as the parents. just like children of 2 really stupid people aren’t likely to be as stupid as the parents–although i’m sure the first set of kids i mentioned will be smarter than the 2nd set of kids i mentioned.</p>
