I live in a middle-class city. I don’t get it. This isn’t Compton, yet people all try to dress like thugs and brag about how many drugs they took the night before…

Acting like a fool with your pants on the ground!

I know, I hate it.

lol @ cc nerds making massive generalizations. :P

From my POV, they let the media leave an impression on them.
Then again, some teenagers in general are as impressionable as they were back when they were in elementary school, so I don’t exactly fault them for that. It’s a phase, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

“Thug means never having to say you’re sorry.” - U-TURN (weeds season 3)

everyone just wants to be accepted by their peers, and to them, acceptance can be gained through their behavior, clothes, drug/alcohol use, etc. simple enough :/

coz its awesum

Social status and acceptance by peers. It is sad to see lives get ruined over drugs.

Snrs snrs ifyg ifyg

It is. No really, seriously, those are the cool people, and you are not cool if you are asking this question. Sorry; the world is a crappy place. Just try to find some other white bread people to hang out with, so you guys can nurture each others’ moral fantasies.

I live in a low-middle class city. You decide.

Omg thanks for reminding me of my favorite Weeds quote hahaha

Most kids at my school (besides the thugs/druggies and their friends) think they’re complete idiots.

If you were extremely insecure (for whatever reasons they have, legit or not) you would understand. Accept that you have your head on straught, and they can worry about themselves

It’s the current counterculture.

They don’t. maybe in your small section of the world, but not in general.
