I do everything I can to be friendly. I smile, join clubs, invite people to things, etc. Everyone always has an excuse to decline. People tell me that they’re “going to bed” and then they play cards with each other. When I text people, they don’t text back. Why does everyone do this to me?
It sounds like you need to vent more than receive advice. Nevertheless, there’s clearly something going on. You may be a bit too forward and making people uncomfortable. Or you may have hygiene issues. Or you’ve run into a tight knit group that simply does not want another person to join. The truth will probably hurt, but you need to look for the real reason and address if you want things to get better. Good luck.
You need to find someone you can trust to talk to see if they can give you some feedback.
Are you too clingy? Are you awkward? Do you talk to much? Too little?
Can you go to your campus counseling center and tell them what you told us.
Maybe they can help you findout what the issue is.
Also, maybe join a service club where you spend time with people doing things. You may find friends more organically that way.
Does your dorm have intramural teams? Join one of those.
