Why Do People Revere UC Berk and UCLA So Much?

Oops. I was not aware that SuzieQ was an immigrant. If I had known this, I wouldn’t have commented on the difficulty in understanding her posts. I sincerely apologize. Sigh…and I’m usually the nice one on these threads…

Although, I still don’t take back my dislike in her choice of words. PEALS might come off a bit argumentative in some posts, but I found SuzieQ’s response to be a bit rude, especially considering age and parental role.

Sorry guys!

IzzieBear: Most of your posts were reasonable; the comments I took issue with were some of the blatant attacks on Suzie’s intelligence. I agree with you that personal attacks are rude and have no place on this board, especially not from a parent.

If I had known I wouldn’t have said certain things. I apologize very much for rudeness concerning her supposed lack of comprehension or writing skills. Now that I see English is not her first language I feel very badly for saying that.

Not to continue to be a jerk, but… I still feel Susie should not have said certain things towards me either. IzzieBear, you shouldn’t feel as if you are being mean because you called someone out for their rudeness.

Susie is an immigrant-- does that excuse her for making a blanket statement on the students from a certain university, or excuse her for rudeness to me personally? I apologize for the remarks made about her language skills because they are wrong. But that doesn’t mean she is excused in acting immature. It is even more wrong to let her off the hook for acting like a twelve year old with awful insults simply because one feels “bad” that, after all, she’s “just an immigrant”, or something to that affect.

This thread has not only gotten far off topic, it is veering dangerously close to violating the CC terms of service stating that posters should treat each other with respect, even when they disagree with the other’s opinions. Therefore, I am closing this thread.
