Why doesn't this school have its own section...?

I’m not sure if there has been one of these, I couldn’t find it… but I thought it’d be nice for us to name one school we thought should have it’s own section that didn’t

Wayne State University in Detroit. The school has over 33,000 students and 13 colleges.

NYU received 37,000 applications this past year, and it has top graduate and undergraduate programs. It should be among the “CC Top Universities.”

Still wondering why Marshall University in Huntington, WV doesn’t have its own forum. I mean, it’s the school in “We Are Marshall”, which is a true story, and its Yeager Scholars program is stellar!

Also would like to see forums for:
Shawnee State
Cleveland State
Eastern Michigan (although this school might already have one…)
Northern Michigan
University of Louisville
Central State
Wilberforce
Ceaderville
Calvin (this school might already have one, too…)

University of Tulsa (top 75 US News National, well-known due to football)
Northern Arizona (popular safety among Californians)
University of British Columbia (Ranked above Toronto and McGill in some programs)

I would second the vote for Bryant University. It actually has some liberal arts majors as well as business. I was very impressed with the campus, the professors, current students and the president.

Bryant University is not very well known. Its peer school are Roger Williams & Suffolk University other schools without its own threads.

I personally would rank it (Bryant) above both those schools. It’s specialized for business and is very well known in it’s region. Any body from my area knows if you are interested in studying business you need to look at the three B’s (Bryant, Bentley, and Babson).

Thanks for the suggestions. We try to establish school-specific forums only after there is ongoing discussion surrounding that school in other forums on the site. I’ll take a look at these.

Upon further review, most of the schools mentioned here have no dedicated threads (even Marshall U and EMU, oddly enough). I was only able to find decent discussion about the University of Tulsa, so we will be adding a new forum for that school to see how it will perform. Since LogicWarrior was the one to suggest this school, I wonder if he/she would be willing to help contribute to this forum.

Just to clarify, when I search for relevant discussion, I am looking for “dedicated” threads. In other words, these are threads that contain the school name in their title (though I tend not to include “versus” threads). One mention of the school on page 13 of a general thread does not warrant the creation of a new forum for that school.

In addition, we’re looking for schools that have been discussed within the past 30 days if possible (though we have been known to reach back further if there are a significant number of threads present).

Okay, thanks for the info, Lenitus. I’ve dropped the name of the schools mentioned a few times here on CC, but never started threads on them. I guess I’ll start threads mentioning EMU and Marshall by name, ask some questions, and go from there, because both are great schools that should not go without being mentioned.

I second the motion for Northern Michigan University. Have long been frustrated by the lack of a place to go for chat about it here as I have researched on my son’s behalf. No specific questions to start a thread about at the moment, but I promise to start one if it would help the process. I suspect there are a lot of other people who would step up to add comments if they found a chat destination for NMU.

For those of you desiring an NMU thread, if you can help me find 2 or 3 current threads that are dedicated to Northern Michigan (not threads where the school is mentioned in one post along with 10 other schools) then we might be able to do something about this, especially since you have promised to help foster discussion on such a board.

And, yes, a school can have dedicated threads without having its own forum. Members sometimes post school-specific questions in the more general forums (College Search & Selection, and College Admissions, for example) that could be moved over into a new school forum. Thanks!
