How much will it cost him for the rights to Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” as his theme?
If the wall ever gets built doesn’t he realize many of the construction workers will be illegal immigrants and some of the guards will be illegals too? Pretty soon there will be even more of you know who coming in than before. I guess he’ll have to shoot some of them and their guard relatives, and tell others, “You’re fired amigo!”
If I were him and had eight years to plan my campaign, I would have had a well-thought out speech rehearsed that concentrated on my priorities…jobs, foreign affairs, restoring respect etc. I wouldn’t let the press take control and force me to spend every day talking about things they want to discuss. He’s already sidetracked and doesn’t even know it.
But I am rooting for him to at least get into the first debate. If I were one of his Republican opponents I’d show up to the theater wearing a Trump wig and a pin on my tie that says, “Dump Trump”. Sparks are gonna fly in August.
If he were to get elected, I would only hope he appoints Rubio to a special PAC for immigration reform, because I think he’s the only one in the Republican party who actually has a decent layout for a path to citizenship.
Of course, Rubio would have to fix his hair first.
IMO, this thread has not gotten political, at least not the posts that I have not deleted. You are free to open another thread to talk about Rubio’s hair and Hillary’s pantsuits if you are so inclined.
A friend of mine stayed in one of Trump’s hotels in the 80’s. He would go downstairs for breakfast. The Trump family would sit at the next table. No entourage. No bodyguards. The Trumps were just another family with a bunch of kids running around the tables.
I kind of like the way Trump is so polarizing…he pushes people out of their comfort zone and politics the past couple decades has been a huge snore. Everyone is so darn afraid of taking a strong position that no one takes a position. Trump for better or worse does not seem to be someone who is afraid of what he believes in and that’s refreshing – now would I want him for president? Ahhh that is a a much tougher thing to think about so I’m not going to think about it right now
During Trump’s speech in Phoenix, AZ, there were some protesters in the middle of the crowd who held up a sign saying something against him. Security took them out and he said something about how he wondered if Mexico sent them too. lol
People are tired of (1) professional life long politicians who (2) are totally scripted with every statement being focus-group tested before it is made. Whether you agree with him or not, he isn’t either of those.
@stugace Another good sign of Trump not faltering. A while ago a group of liberal protesters stormed the Senate (I think?) demanding that Henry Kissinger be tried for “war crimes” instead of speaking about progress/opinions on the Iraq war. John McCain, who was leading this update, remained calm at first, but then lost his temper and told them to “grow up” along with other remarks. Had that been Trump, he would’ve waited for security to escort them out, and made a joke about it, while still standing by his point.
